I recreated one of my favourite Aphex Twin prepared piano tracks off Drukqs by layering piano with Physical Audio's Preparation physical modelling synth. It’s the same “Net1” algorithm I used for “Pi” and other pieces of Multiverse, in plug-in form. The evolving and varied “muted prepared string” effect is achieved by applying random velocity in Ableton into my preset “Drukqs Plucks”, which ships with Preparation 2, by way of key and velocity mapping on string stiffness, rattler mass and nonlinearity.  You can get Preparation 2 for a discount by using the promo code GADI for all of August.  I am amazed how far the team has come since these algorithms were server based machine code, it’s basically ray-tracing for sound.

Regarded as the father of contemporary haiku, Masaoka Shiki was a poet and literary critic during the Meiji period Japan.

He advocated realistic observation by “sketching” (shasei) poems and going out into nature with notebooks, thus abandoning the traditional subjects of haiku of the time. His advice for an aspiring poet was, “Use both imaginary pictures and real ones, but prefer the real ones.”

Physical Audio® exists to push the boundaries of real-time physical modelling synthesis. We create audio plugins using pure numerical modelling of acoustic systems such as bars, strings, plates and connecting elements. These techniques produce physical models that have real acoustic qualities and dynamic expression, without using any samples or impulse responses.

When I first listened to electronic music in the 70ies (Klaus Schulze, Tangerine Dream, Brian Eno), i was immediately fascinated by synthesizers and what one can do with them. But I never played one until... I started to experiment with synthesizers in 2011.

My tracks have intentionally no names - so it is open to the listener to imagine titles for them. May i change that in the future? Maybe... Their style is mostly (dark) ambient - soundscapes, drones and weird sounds...

Good ambient triggers a movie in the listener's mind - hope, that my music does so...

Born in 1989 in Kosovo - Yugoslavia. Fehmiju, started playing the accordion and piano at the age of eight. He majored in violin in Istanbul Fine Arts University State Conservatory setting from the age of 11. He studied composition from an early age and entered the university's composition department in 2007. In 2014, he graduated from musicology at the same university. He worked as a theory lecturer at the same university for two years between 2012 and 2014. In 2015 he moved to Japan where he studied computer music for one year as a research student at Kunitachi College of Music and started a doctorate program at the Sonology Department of the same university in the spring of 2016. 
He attended workshops of musicians such as Domenico Nordio, Flamur Muco, Atilla Aldemir, Edward Sielicki, Jan Risberg, and Gürer Aykal. In 2010, he participated in the World Choir Competition held in China as a member of the chorus representing Turkey and won the gold medal three times. Received the second prize at the 2012 Turkish Ayvalik International Composition Competition. Fehmiju, exhibited at the 2016 Seoul International Computer Music Festival, 2018 New York City Electroacoustic Music Festival and North Macedonia - Ohrid Summer Festival. He Received the first prize at the 2018 Istanbul MIAM Composition Competition. In the spring of 2019, he joined the Sound R&D of KORG Inc. Since December 2019, he has been a member of the bFaaaP (Barrier-free assistant as a pedal for Piano) project. In March 2020, Fehmiju received a PhD in the Computer Music Composition - Sonology Department at Kunitachi College of Music. Fehmiju also continues his further research, performances, and compositions as a freelance artist.
Fehmiju is the project leader of the Japan side and product manager of the Korg Fisa Suprema project.
