Spain's Loopaina Records is an underground techno imprint with quality artists such as PWCCA, XHEI, A4, Linear System, HD Substance and Albert Salvatierra in their catalogue.

Their second vinyl entry comes from rising Italian star Pyramidal Decode, who lists tracks for some of the best labels out there, such as Oscar Mulero's Warm Up, Bas Mooy's Mord, Lewis Fautzi's Faut Section, Edit Select, Svreca's Semantica, Developer's Modularz, as well as our very own DEAD CERT. Records and MÉTIER.

For this DT:Premiere we selected "Atto" that is an esoteric trip. Cyclical frequencies create a wall of texture and sonic depth with subtle morphing elements, while percussion highlights of cymbal crashes add to the dramatic feeling in this intense, tool-like and abstract creation.

Phyr Records meaning "fire" from the Greek word "pyro" is a new label by Italy's Pyramidal Decode and debut release 'Compounds VA' features four original tracks by label head Pyramidal Decode, PWCCA, Irazu & Unkle Fon and Oliver Rosemann.

Since adopting his current moniker in 2017, he has released powerful tracks on esteemed labels including Jeff Mills' Axis, Oscar Mulero's Warm Up, Bas Mooy's Mord, Svreca's Semantica amongst many other influential techno labels.

For this DT:Premiere we selected his track "Resistenza" with a raw and menacing style. Cyclical rhythms, pulsing textures and engrossing sound design create a tornado of power and trippy atmospherics in this exceptional contemporary cut.

CRITXX is an emerging techno DJ based in rural Australia, quietly crafting a distinctive sound shaped by solitude and connection. Though outside Melbourne’s club scene, he remains deeply engaged—attending events, digging into the underground, and refining his storytelling approach to DJing. His sets span from deep, minimal grooves to harder, high-energy moments, always aiming to create immersive, emotionally resonant journeys. Since beginning his journey in early 2024 with a love for hard techno, he has gravitated toward more stripped-back, groove-driven styles, drawing inspiration from both intensity and subtlety. The rural backdrop informs his sound’s sense of space and contrast, and while he hasn’t played live yet, CRITXX continues to build momentum through mixes and a focused dedication to the craft—positioning himself as a thoughtful and promising voice in the next wave of Australian techno.

“I am a producer but I feel more like a sound researcher. I like to research new environments, new sonic realms.” In this statement, Italian producer Pyramidal Decode, the focus of this new episode of DYSTOPIA, sums up not only his personal musical methodology but also captures the essence of what techno is: not music but the sculpting of abstract sonic impulses. In this episode, we explore firstly how the intersection of the abstract core of techno with the overt expressivity of Latin cultures has created a powerful techno variant that is now dominant in the global scene. At the apex of this creative movement is Pyramidal Decode, whose own productions embody a wildly experimental, mesmerising, yet utterly concrete, manifestation of what techno can be. He shares with us the background to his unique artist name, his motivations to make techno, the reasons behind his prolific creative output, as well as his newfound position as owner of his new record label PHYR. Back in the Day, Tyler Smith aka ‘Black Smith Craft’ discovered the unique sound of acid house and was immediately captured by the hypnotic vibe that emanated from the music during the end of the 1980’s.
He found himself seduced & consumed by this wave of electronic music and fell in love with the German melodic trance style labels such as Eye-Q, Platipus and Superstition, as many of us did… 
Having followed dance music in all its forms throughout the 1990’s he started DJ’ing and by the turn of the millennium he started to develop a taste for the more underground techno sound which was coming out of England, Germany & especially the Detroit sound of the time…
Tyler Smith had always wanted to be involved with radio broadcasts and this ambition kicked off in earnest when he started playing regularly on the ‘Tuesday Session’ show, broadcast on the very popular Campus FM (Villeneuve d’Ascq/France), which was run by Dmitri Pike of Mirage/Matrix/Subject Detroit fame.
Spurred on by the development of increased exposure through radio he started honing his skills in music production and the ‘Alphaground’ website was born. This brought about more exposure for his music mission and by 2004 Tyler was performing on a number of key profile dance music stations in France and Holland. During 2006 he launched ‘Interstate 94’ show with Erell Ranson & Pedro Cali for Livesets.com, which was dedicated to the sound of Detroit. This was quickly followed by the aptly named ‘B-Side Show’ which showcased the darker, offbeat & industrial sounds. Currently the main man is managing different shows playing classics from way back, Detroit & Birmingham tunes on Livesets.com, Emergence FM (Limoges/France), and Techno.fm 
In 2006 Tyler’s finally realized the goal of having his debut vinyl release which was in collaboration with Bionic on French label ‘Audiocrash’. This was quickly followed by several upstanding digital releases. Over the years Tyler’s side to the music has become darker & more industrial, which in turn has led to the birth of his most acclaimed project: Black Smith Craft… With music released already on distinct labels from the scene and more on the way for labels including Grovsjopa’s mighty ‘Pohjola’, Leeds finest ‘Limetree’, UTCH rec. & Rednox’ superb free net-label ‘Ante-Rasa’…
Since 2008, Tyler has played across Europe alongside artists like Kr!z, the 65d mavericks, Bas Mooy, DJ Toki, DJ Boss, Bionic, Dimitri Pike, Arrestar, Sean Matters, Systemic, Victor Martinez…
More recently, he has created the groups http://soundcloud.com/groups/technotherapy and http://soundcloud.com/groups/old-school-techno-1 on Soundcloud to keep the real techno spirit alive and promote both established and up and coming techno artists from around the world.
