Artificial Intelligence turns emotive on a Swiss underground radio dataset and gives up in peace – collective curatorial practices winning over. This radio feature is a collaboration between Norient and @radiobollwerk. Based in Bern, we share the same city of origin with this Swiss internet radio. The feature is to be seen as a local add-on to the Norient book «Politics of Curatorship: Collective and Affective Interventions», released in Spring 2023, and a creative by-product of the curation of a Swiss underground spotlight in the program of the 13th edition of our Festival in January 2024 by the radio crew.

"Foundlings" is a 15-minute radio feature telling the stories of foundlings – people who were left abandoned at birth with no trace of their biological parents or family. The feature focuses on three in particular from the UK.

Anchored by my father's own story, the audio feature aims to educate the listener on the struggles and experiences that someone who has no idea about their true start to life lives. showing the similarities and differences that foundlings have.

This was a project for my second year at University, and was nominated for "Best Audio Feature" in their annual end of year awards ceremony.

Born 1960 in Vienna. Austrian composer, improviser and performer. He studied composition with Friedrich Cerha and musicology in Vienna. Besides writing experimental instrumental music, he performs on his own electronic instrument m@ze°2, develops software environments for computer-aided composition and creates generative sound and video environments. Since 2007 professor of composition for electro-acoustic and experimental music at the University of Music in Vienna.

Karlheinz Essl performs on a laptop computer that he has transformed into a live electronic musical instrument. The result is exciting and musical. You just won't hear these sounds anywhere else. He performs solo and in duets and trios, responding with sensitivity to fellow musicians, producing fascinating sound transformations, creating spontaneous surprises, and moving quickly from loops to cacophony to tiny clips of vocal sounds to all kinds of textures and ideas. Elle est alimentée par les productions radiophoniques des journalistes des radios communautaires en Afrique de l’Ouest formés sur les enjeux de l’agropastoralisme dans le cadre du Projet Elevages et Pastoralisme intégrés et sécurisés en Afrique de l’Ouest (PEPISAO) financé par l’Agence Française de Développement (AFD) et coordonné par la CEDEAO qui a délégué la mise en œuvre des composantes 1 et 2 au CILSS.
