"My songwriting is inherently autobiographical, and my track 'This House Is For Sale' is a prime example. Originally conceived in Holland, the song uses the central metaphor of a house for sale to depict a failing relationship. This personal narrative reflects a period of my life defined by goodbyes—whether I was the one being left or making the difficult choice to leave. I firmly believe in writing what I know, which is why all of my music is a raw and honest reflection of my personal journey and the realities I've lived through."

About the founder :









Music was my first language, a passion that took root before I could properly form words. I spent 16 years studying piano, including two at the university level, though I didn't graduate. By fourteen, I was already sealing envelopes, sending my demos out into the world with a teenager’s hopeful desperation. I spent years trekking to office buildings, dropping off those tapes, until I landed a meeting with the late, great Morris Levy. He was the first to call me out on what he saw: I was all over the map. Opera, Bluegrass, and everything in between—I had no distinct genre, just a deep, abiding love for sound.

That eclectic ear was forged in the Southern Baptist church, where I was taught piano for one reason: to ensure the choir always had a musician. I played that role faithfully until a single, accidental experience—attending a service on acid—shook my faith in the institution, though never in God. It was a turning point among many too numerous to mention.

Morris saw my chaos not as a weakness, but as a strength. He suggested I stop trying to fit into a box and instead build my own. He was right on point. So, being who I am, I turned away from hip-hop and rap and dove headfirst into the rock market. That leap of faith became Cheektowaga Records.

My process is my own. I work in Cubase or Magix, and I don't rely on A.I. for composition—my tools are synthesizers, samples, and a network of incredible session singers and musicians I hire from across the web. While I might use an A.I. studio to sketch a demo, the final product is always human.

To many in the industry, I’m a villain; to others, a savior of sorts. And unlike most executives, I write the majority of my own releases. But don’t mistake me for another Frank Farian; my operation is built on a different kind of alchemy.

The work you hear started as unpolished demos. It has taken a lifetime to hone them, and the polishing is a process I’m still deeply immersed in. A more detailed story is coming in a book, but for now, recognize this: I am not "gay," I am Vince. And Vince is a man of many contradictions. I've had meaningful relationships with both men and women; my preference is for adults, connection, and chemistry, not a specific gender. I don't really have a type, and I believe a person can be fluid, loving one thing one day and something else the next. To each their own.

Trust me, I have lived an interesting life. Read the book. As for the music, enjoy it or not—we all have our preferences.

I am trying to make people more aware of the power of music, especially the kind that makes you move. Maybe some can take that experience on the dancefloor to see that we can work together as a race, if we just drop our differing ideas for a moment to see what is really there. Music is one of the best ways to do this to the human mind.

Selekta Chang’s roots lie in his Cuban family being exposed at an early age to his parents collection of disco, soul, rock, salsa, and funk records. His first musical instrument was the drums where he performed percussion in a symphonic classical band while in Jr. High. This eventually led to his interest in djing while one day watching “The Buffalo Gals” music video on MTV. It was the scratching sound he heard that lead to his curiosity on what it meant to mix records. Around that time in Miami his cousin was a disco dj, and it was his music that motivated Chang even more to pursue the art of the mixtape.

What Chang is best known for though is his residency at Simons! There he played with djs like Laurent Garnier, Felix Da Housecat, Deep Dish, Green Velvet, Richie Hawtin, John Aquaviva, Rabbit In The Moon, Hardkiss, Carl Cox, Josh Wink, King Britt, SF Wicked, Kimball Collins, D-Xtreme, dj Three, Monk, Jask, Mark Farina, John Digweed, Danny Tenaglia, DJ Pierre, Dubtribe, Doc Martin and much, much, more.  

Never constituting to one sound expect elements of disco, soul, afro-funk, electro, breaks, house, techno, trance, hip hop, to indie rock in his sets. Expressing such diverse sounds that it excites & entices his fans with the unknown & unexpected.

His dj travels have surpassed the borders of the USA to Formula One in Bahrain, FM4 Radio in Vienna, Beach Party in Beirut, SQ Club & Piekarnia in Poland, Treasure Beach Jamaica, Download Festival in Slovakia, to the legendary Cocoon Club in Frankfurt, Germany. 

Charity is where his heart is like his involvement with Project Ahimsa, a charity that spreads musical instruments to underprivileged youth around the globe. He was 2011-2013's Mr. X for The Red Bull Music Academy in West Florida, and a co-founder of the Street Music Workshop at The Moses House in Sulphur Springs, Fl. from 2008 till 2010.
