Indulgently rousing? It's sounding like an advert for bath soap or chocolate, but I very much enjoyed the unnecessarily epic intro, followed by some energetic EDM.

Existential Ascension

I made this track as part of an exercise for GEMS Film scoring course in July 2025 for Garry Schymann. I used a recording of a Rhythmicon (invented by Leon Theremin), a TC Helicon Talk box (I recorded my voice), a Roli Seaboard 2 with some preset sounds from Ableton Live 12 Suite. The music is designed to loop in a video game in a tutorial level where you a learning to control a robot that will shoot and destroy other robots.

I hit another lull in terms of creativity, so I am especially delighted to get this one finished. You may recognise the progression if you've listened to my broader catalogue, and this remains one of my absolute favourites, it stems from a time where I was counting my lucky stars for various reasons.

Da Dune - Sand Worm (59BPM) is a short dark ambient composition inspired by Dune OST for the  Hans Zimmer Birthday Challenge on Roli Discord. 🎻

I had a lot of fun creating this with my synthesizers, microphones and some pretty deep sound design. 🥰

🎛️ Setup: - Playtronica Orbita MIDI sequencer plays the piano patch designed on my Minilogue XD.
I’ve then added various layers with my Microfreak (sub pad) and VSTs like Equator 2 and Cypher 2 controlled by Roli Lumi Keys and Lightpad Blocks. The wind and sand noises are also played on a Lightpad triggering the Minilogue XD, plus a Lazer controller controlling the Cutoff Filter. I’used whispers from a sample pack with Arturia EFX Fragments and designed all the other FX by myself with a diddley bow, a contact mic and a magnetic mic from Syro Instruments, and a fidget spinner! 🌀 I’ve also used hardware and software effects for sound design, mixing and mastering, especially the Eventide H9 Max and Elektron Analog Drive and Analog Heat +FX. CME H4MIDI-WC again for MIDI routing and filtering. Et voilà! 😁

Antara Project (founded by Annemarie Borg in 2010) The first meeting of the Antara group of artists took place on 15 of February 2011 in London West End. I have been creating music since my misspent youth. Every song has a story.

I started with sample based tracks via Dance eJay and Acid Music on my x486 PC, the output from which I would describe as interpretive.

My first writing from scratch started with the glorious Yamaha RM1x and subsequently the Yamaha RS7000. With limited responsibility and seemingly endless weekends, I found the creative spark.

I have diddled a bit with my Teenage Engineering OP-1, Novation Circuit and Korg Electribe 2 (see tracks for evidence), and I briefly touched the Native Instruments Maschine MK2 but I didn't have the PC power to run with that.

Once Akai announced the MPC Live, I was positively salivating and purchased on release.

It has always been about an all in one box solution for me, and now I am only limited by my own creativity and precious free time (thanks, kids).

I write things that I like to listen to, but commercial music this is not. I could see my music in a game, artsy video or fever dream.

At least, when it's all done, I can say that I made some nice noise, even if nobody else thinks so.
