At the beginning of the new millennium Matthew Herbert, a famous British producer with a unique approach to making electronic dance music and a faible for many aliases like Dr Rockit or Wishmountain, released a beautiful Downtempo track named after Café de Flore on Boulevard Saint Germain which contains field recording samples from that famous location and French-style melodies played with an accordion (what else 😉). This beautiful and outstanding piece of music is so romantic that I immediately fell in love with and finally wanted to make an own Downtempo edit out of it.
