In the early 1990s, Warp became associated with the UK's northern bleep techno scene, including acts such as LFO, Sweet Exorcist, Forgemasters and Nightmares on Wax. The 1992 label compilation Artificial Intelligence helped establish the electronic subgenre known as intelligent dance music (IDM). Subsequently, Warp became the home of influential acts such as Aphex Twin, Autechre, Squarepusher, and Boards of Canada.

British electronic label Warp was founded by Steve Beckett, Rob Mitchell  (RIP 2001), and Robert Gordon, Warp (originally to be named Warped, but shortened for communication ease, and later expanded by the backronym "We Are Reasonable People"), is one of the world's most respected, influential, and loved electronic/experimental dance labels of all times. After many years in Sheffield, UK, they later moved to and are based in London, UK.

Bleep.com, Warp's digital music sales site, was also pioneering in being amongst the first to provide high-quality variable bit rate MP3s for sale (later FLAC and other lossless formats). 

To commemorate the 35 years anniversary of the label, I made this mix of some of their lesser known classics, remixes and their influences. I am aware this ain't easy to listen, some of these tracks, like Pathfinder are quite experimental but it's Warp! 3 h 29 minutes mix and 45 tracks.

Hello and welcome to Line Noise. Today I am bringing you an old - or shall we say classic? - interview with Mark Clifford from Seefeel, which I did for Radio Primavera Sound in 2018, when the band were in Barcelona, performing Quique at the Mira festival. With the news that Seefeel are performing at this year's Primavera Sound festival still relatively fresh in my ears, I thought it was high time to bring back this interview with one of the most charming men in electronic music. No Joy's brilliant new album 'Bugland' has sent me back to lots of other recent and older shoegazey stuff that incorporates more electronic elements, whether it's just some keyboards / fuzzed out organs or full digital distortion and glitchiness. The main other act who seems as adventurous to me has always been Medicine, and the book-ending tracks on the NJ album reminded me of a couple of epic Medicine tracks, so topped and tailed this mix w a mashup of each . . .

Focus Puller’s relationship with music started  aged 6, when he was given a Dansette record player and a pile of old 7's by his Dad's mate. Stacking those records on the player and announcing them to an imaginary radio audience as they dropped one by one onto the platter had a mesmerising effect. Those early days unlocked a lifelong love affair with music, and paved the way to developing a style that is diverse but fluid. His 2005 mix 'Masical Mugic' brought together hip hop, drum and bass, breaks, techno and house as a seamless whole, claiming second place in the IDJ magazine mix competition and the reward of playing at Turnmills. Most recently, through his long association with the respected Cubism label, Mike has played at Fabric numerous times, which remains his favourite club to this day. 

His own compositions have found their way into the record boxes of some of the world's most admired artists including Dave Clarke, Laurent Garnier, John Digweed and Ben Watt, while 'Pressure Cooker', his 2007 Collaboration with Dave Robertson (Reset Robot), featured in Nic Fanciulli's Radio 1 Essential Mix. Described by DJ Mag as an original and daring artist, Mike continues to release innovative, intriguing music that aims to nourish the soul as well as the feet.
