Ralph Rodriguez, aka Ralph Session, is a New York City DJ and producer whose blend of New York and Chicago house style has gained support over the years from the likes of Jimpster, Mr. V, Cinthie, Oliver Dollar, Laurent Garnier and many more.

2024 has already been a big year for Ralph seeing him release on a dreamy line up of House labels. Highlights include Local Talk, Freerange with Juliet Mendoza, Quintessentials and now it's time to join the SlothBoogie crew for the Late Night Madness EP.

The EP starts off with Madness… a moody late night burner unveiling this release dedicated to classic house sounds. Deep chords and driving percussion swirl and build into a G-funk breakdown and bubbling synth tones.

You Are Here keeps the twilight vibes going and takes us on a seductive trip with chopped up jazzy loops, crackling drums and hushed vocals. A perfect love letter to the haze of the afters.

Finally on Against The Clock Ralph ratchets up the energy and heads for the peak time with powerful piano stabs and a strutting bassline guaranteed to make you move.

Pre Christmas Shenanigans

This London-based Scotsman played a crucial role in London’s esteemed SlothBoogie label for the best part of a decade. At the turn of 2024, he unveiled a new solo project, and it was here that Kenny Blacksmith was born. With time to hone his studio craftsmanship whilst digging within his extensive record collection, a new direction has been set.

He’s a dancer and clubber at heart, with an affinity for the rhythmic instrumentals often found on the B-side. Think deep dubs and acid rollers with a dancefloor focus. As a result his sets are filled with energy and depth, composed with long organic blends and at times a subtle elan. 

Working closely with friends and family, 2024 will see the release of several analogue excursions. His debut release ‘Monday’s Fish’ appeared on Natural Frequencies ‘Harmonic Frequency Vol 1’ and garnered support from Ralph Lawson, Sean Brosnan, Make A Dance, Jive Talk, Emerald to name a few.

What started as a deep/groovy solo-set at a speakeasy margarita bar, turned into a spontaneous dancefloor takeover, when Saracosta dropped in like a ferry into the courtyard. With lots of raw talent and intuition to navigate a chaotic tangle of unfamiliar playlists of mine, she just stitched together a genre/reality-bending, joyful ride that had the crowd smiling and dancing. It was unplanned, unfiltered, and unhinged fun, the kind of fused magic that only happens in Berlin when music stays at the core!

FRI's 42nd release, 'The Way You Like It' EP by Glasgow-based DJ and producer Kokode, showcases the label's commitment to quality deep house through four tracks that reflect classic aesthetics — clean, minimal arrangements enriched with lush chords, airy pads, and subtle vocal elements. With a keen sense for groove and mood, Kokode's 'Outerspace' closes the EP on a deeper note: a dusty, late-night journey built on looping, wobbly chords that gradually spiral into a hypnotic, mysterious groove.

Slothboogie is regarded as a bit of an institution, the long running London based record label and party series has been responsible for releasing forward thinking music which has helped push a new wave of artists and dj’s in the pursuit of dancefloor enlightenment.

House music underpins a lot of what Slothboogie is and what they do.

Founded in 2010 as a blog, it quickly evolved in to something far greater and now the collective are widely regarded as selectors in their own right.

SlothBoogie is a vibrant cultural force—championing underground electronic music with a holistic approach that spans curation, release, performance, and community building.

There 15 year anniversary is accompanied by the release of a new compilation which they are celebrating with a launch party in London at Cafe 1001 this evening.
