Streaming live from the notorious HÖR studios in Berlin, we invite the most exciting DJs and producers from within our community to showcase their sound in a series of livestreams throughout the year.

Pushing robotic body music to its kinetic and cathartic limits as both DJ and producer, @solid_blake's precision is remarkable. With productions described by Mixmag as "percussion palpitating below wild synth bursts," this is an artist rightfully earning her praises developing a reputation for impacting crowds with her gritty cross-pollinated strains of electronic club music.

Eclecticism is the keyword when it comes to the musical taste of @l-v-z-1-e. Based on her love of harsh drums, weird bleeps and bouncy basslines, she interweaves dark Electro with complex Breaks, Techno and the occasional dreamy bop.

Born and raised in Frankfurt she quickly developed a keen interest in electronic music when her brother introduced her to early House music. Inspired by the dance sound of Detroit, Chicago, New York and the UK she translates the diverse sonic influences into her sets and productions, which build a bridge between classic tunes and new sounds combining them into a notion of futuretroism.

Banana'Cast 43 ➤ Solid Blake

Don't let @solid_blake's diminutive stature fool you: she plays with a ferocity and precision that flips Europe's most tasteful dance floors inside out. Born in Glasgow but operating out of Copenhagen, she was a founding member of the Apeiron Crew DJ collective, has produced as Historical Repeater with Ctrls and often plays with Mama Snake as she did at our own festival a few years ago. Her Rinse FM radio show is always packed with new sounds that have you desperate to find out more, as is this week's mix. 

It's built on bold, body-shaking rhythms that are elastic and acrobatic. They're loose and roomy to start before the kinetic energy builds through jungle cuts, thumping deep techno and unhinged club music. Though squarely aimed at the dance floor, these selections are detailed with freaky monologues or wild vocalisations that bring them to life outside the club. They're both deep but lively and run through with a subtle sense of party-starting fun.

During the last 5 years @Herrensauna has become one of the most esteemed spaces of Berlin’s queer underground. Showcasing a sound between experimental sonics and heavy techno in an open and intimate club setting, the collective has launched a batch with some of the most influential artists of the new generation of techno such as residents SPFDJ, Héctor Oaks and co-founders CEM and MCMLXXXV. 

Now Herrensauna are set to kick off their record label presenting music by the underground talents they have been supporting in a series of vinyl EPs. The first instalment features Historical Repeater, the collaborative project of Copenhagen-based producers @ctrls and @solid_blake.
