Inspiration: I wanted to explore a certain vibe from Castlevania: Symphony of the Night—in particular, the underground caverns level. I always loved the way Michiru Yamane made the soundtrack for this section very dreamlike with the way things were mixed, and the use of reverb in the drums and piano.

There is a really nice heavy breakdown in here, where it heads into epic, Deep Purple territory unexpectedly before finding its way back into the main themes.

I really loved working on this. The time signature and key changes are a bit wacky, but they'll grow on you over time. Oh yeah, this uses a trick with the $F4 $01 moments where the legato notes are slightly delayed from the normal ones because of the slow attack of the brass instruments. Thanks for listening!

Vacay Song 1 (Idea)

Mystic Quest Legend on Super Nintendo is one of the first game on this console. Original composer is Ryuji Sasai. It also has very good BGM in "rock" style", a strange mix (for the time) between rock and very electronic sounds. I tried to keep that spirit alive, especially the fake electric guitar and chiptune leads, by using an FM synth for the guitar and a gritty bass produced by a Gameboy.
