yazılı hangi suçlardan yargılanması gerektiğini madde numaraları halinde yazdım ki
meselenin ne denli ciddi olduğu anlaşılsın.
Bu maddelerin içerdiği suçları yazacak olsam bir yazının sınırları içerisinde kalamam.
Dolayısıyla hiç olmazsa bazılarından haber vereyim size.
Bir kere bu suçlu bir katil. Kasten öldürme, kasten yaralama, işkence ve eziyet suçlamalarıyla
yargılanmalı. Ama ne hikmetse yargılanmıyor.
Dahası var. Tehdit ve cebir kullanarak cinsel saldırı, taciz ve çocuk istismarı yaptığı da
kayıtlara geçmiş durumda.
Aynı zamanda bu suçlu bir hırsız. Hakkı olmayan yere tecavüzden yağmaya, mala zarar
vermekten özel hayatın gizliliğini ihlale kadar kabarık bir dosyası olan bir hırsız üstelik.
Bu suçlunun durumu ile ilgili olarak insanı delirten yer ise şurası. Bu katil, tecavüzcü-tacizci
hırsız aramızda elini kolunu sallayarak dolaşmaya devam ediyor. Hukuki makamlar ve
merciler, bu aşağılık suçluyu suçlarından dolayı yargılamak için hiçbir şey yapmıyor.
Bu, burada bir dursun.
Bir anlığına gözünüzü kapatın ve bu suçlunun mahallenizde yaşadığını hayal edin. Sokaklarda
dolaştığını, her Allah’ın günü mahallenizin insanlarına, çocuklarına, evlerine, hatta ne

İlk gençlik yıllarımda bir köyde şöyle bir olay gerçekleşmiş ve dilden dile
dolaşmıştı.
Kocası vefat etmiş, çocukları olan bir dul kadın ziraat faaliyetini üstlenmiş,
yalnız başına, köyden biraz uzak tarlasında çalışıyor. Kadına göz koymuş bir
soysuz geliyor bıçak vs. tehdidi ve erkek gücüyle kadına tecavüz ediyor. Kadın
çekinmiyor, karakola oradan da mahkemeye gidiyor. Soysuza yedi buçuk yıl
hapis cezacı veriyorlar. Bir iki yıl yattıktan sonra bir af çıkıyor, pislik, elini
kolunu sallayarak köye geliyor, kadın köy çeşmesinde komşularıyla imece usulü
yün yıkıyor, adamı görünce “yahu bu soysuza yedi buçuk yıl hapis cezası
verilmedi mi” diye yakınıyor, “af çıktı, hükümet affetti” diyorlar. Hemen
koşarak eve gidiyor, tabancayı alıyor ve soysuz henüz evine ulaşmadan karnına
yedi kurşun yerleştiriyor ve dönüp kadınlara “Bu adam hükümete değil, bana
tecavüz etti, hükümet onu nasıl affedermiş, asıl beni affetsin” diyor ve gidip
karakola teslim oluyor.

Working abroad can be a big challenge…

Leaving friends & family on the promise of a better wage, together with very little knowledge of the culture you're about to experience. What could prepare you at a moment's notice?

My good friend Moses Ocaya knows. I first met him when I was at a British school in Qatar, where he was managing all the students [as a security guard] as they came to and from the school. In between my late night music lessons, we would sit with some warm tea and while the night away discussing our hectic lives exploring our place in an intimidating world.

We eventually had had enough conversations (and tea!) for us to write a song together. 

"Child of the Nile" is one of the first songs of mine as part of the 'Third Culture' musical exploration of cross-cultural happenings. Inspired by Moses and his tough tribulations but positive attitude to life as a white-collar worker in Qatar, and a tribute to travelling workers worldwide.

He had then, and still continues to inspire me everyday since our friendship began.
