Forgetting Is So Long

It’s not only the Empire builders the Titans of this world that leave wakes. Some entities become so powerful that they think they are invincible but no one is. Sometimes even the most intelligent creatures are caught off guard in frozen beer by their own mortality. This is a representation of the old British empire mixed with the hubris of the men and women on the Titanic who thought it was unsinkable. It also holds many modern day parallels.

The song explores the emotional limbo between staying and leaving, clarity and confusion. A moment of miscommunication became the seed for Yes Maybe—a song that speaks to anyone who’s ever struggled to find their voice. Inspired by a real-life experience at age 19, I capture the paralysis of indecision with a playful synth arpeggio, rich bass, and haunting vocals.

Dorothy Bird is a singer-songwriter based between Liverpool and Berlin. With ringing endorsements from BBC Introducing, Tom Robinson's Fresh On The Net and BBC6music Mixtape, Mersey Radio and a plethora of tastemaking magazines both in England and her native Germany, Dorothy Bird's music has been described as "It is certainly also both epic and cinematic. Influenced by Björk and Portishead as much as Thom Yorke and Goldfrapp, she is an art-pop songwriter who already has two solo EPs to her name which mix the acoustic with layers of electronica. R.J. Flanary: Where Faith and Country Collide

R.J. Flanary, the "Inspirational Country crooner from Texas," isn't your average singer-songwriter. Born and raised under the glow of a legendary red neon sign proclaiming "Jesus Saves," his music is a vibrant tapestry woven from faith, country twang, and a whole lot of Texas heart.

Flanary's 2012 album, "Neon Church," is a poignant reflection on his upbringing, a love letter to the values instilled in him within those sacred walls. The title track, a personal narrative, captures the essence of his journey, a testament to the enduring power of faith.

On stage, R.J.'s charisma is undeniable. With a blend of humor and heartfelt honesty, he shares his life's journey, both triumphs and struggles, always pointing the spotlight towards the transformative message of Jesus Christ. He's a true storyteller, weaving tales of redemption and grace into his music, leaving audiences both entertained and inspired.

But life, as it often does, threw R.J. a curveball. In 2018, he faced a new challenge with a Parkinson's diagnosis. However, even in the face of adversity, his faith remains unwavering. R.J. continues to share his music, his message, and his unwavering belief in the power of love and redemption, proving that even in the face of challenges, the spirit of faith can shine brighter than ever before.

He still works in live music as Production & Special Projects Director for the Philadelphia-based live concert and event company, Rising Sun Presents.

His love of international music is, in part, inspired by his international travels with his partner, Holly, including trips to Portugal, Vietnam, Japan, Colombia, and Mexico. He also enjoys spending time with his cat, Cleveland, and his dog, Neko.
