Woodland Creatures is putting out his record For The Birds in May (this hasn't been social media announced so you heard it here) and thus this is the perfect time to get him back and doing the kind of set he heard in his mind and I always wanted. From downtempo to garage-y RnB doused skittering grooves and back again and out to IDM moments and back again from that it's really all over the spectrum just as we love it and just like his new record which - let me tell you -is so fucking great. I absolutely adore it, and him, and this mix and I am excited for you to experience all The Crane has in store for you from my good ship Woodland Creatures. First thing's first - this mix! Dig in!!

There could not be a greater friend to https://soundcloud.com/woodland-creatures-label Skwirl, or indeed the decks themselves than Orinoko (known lovingly to us as Dave). For years he's been a quiet but evergreen presence along my journey always championing my efforts and proving himself a veritable fountain of support and well wishes and I could not love him more for it. 

One thing you must know about Dave - he's a whip crack DJ - most at home cranking out techno stormers and devastating club barn burners - with a vast love for far reaching musical vistas...a man after my own heart.

And apparently it was after my heart he was determined to go when he buzzed me up to tell me he'd crafted a journey in honour of Woodland Creatures, various Skwirlisms, and specifically the Woodland Features series. The mix he sent, this mix, is an astounding piece of storytelling and world building and my cup (and my tear ducts) runneth over to be so blessed with such a dude in my life capable and inspired as he is to so delicately and perfectly express the Woodland Creatures/Features ethos and aesthetic. 

The mix is at its heart a loving series of deftly emotional moments of jazzy trip-hop and downtempo but it zooms in and out of eras and locales and styles so splendidly and cheekily that you would not be amiss to dash all notions of genre and instead find yourself overwhelmed by the incredible love and care that has gone into this mastercraft. Sometimes people make things so clearly from the heart and along the very pathways of  the soul that you can only sit back and marvel and whisper "wow" to yourself. This is one of those times.

Ahead of his new record "Supernatural Beast City" dropping fuarking TOMORROW on Woodland Creatures the mighty Duran times 3 has been gracious enough to grab the controls for an unbelievably choice hour of vibe power. 

I really don't want to say too much this time you just have to hear this mix and you have to catch his new LP. Both are testaments as to why DDD is legendary in many circles - foundationally rock solid jungle and breakcore craft, but with heart and whimsy and face melting bone crunching power - sure, but also he's a profoundly versatile being and you know what - he's a fucking awesome dude. I love him to death, I love this mix, I love the new LP - get amongst it!!

Tea-Snuggery is Threeemoji aka Tom Bossert. Born in 1976, his musical path quickly led him to electronic music. From Krautrock and bands like Cluster, Can and Kraftwerk in his youth, to the early 90s with the start of the techno movement and club culture in Germany. His sets have always been oriented towards this development, never just one or the other.
For more than a decade Tom has presented the Tea Snuggery Show on various stations which now resides on Threads Radio. The focus is on music, far from the mainstream, from ambient to zef - out of the comfort zone and into the depths of electronic music and other various genres.

The mix takes you on a journey through artists who have performed on the show (Famous Forgotten Artists, Die Wilde Jagd, David Fenech, Isak Anderssen, Ufo Hawaii), some obscure gems and recent releases from The Horrors, Saeko Kill, Heartworms, DECIUS and much more.  Listen with care.

The Shizzle is a weekly radio program that has been running since late 2014 on BAY FM (Byron Bay) which explores a diverse range of music from the now, yesterday and tomorrow,  Touching on  everything from psychedelia, techno, post punk, disco, house, leftfield electronic music, downbeat, world exotica & more. I have a very loose music policy -" if I like it, I play it".

I am a passionate music fan originally from Melbourne who now calls the Byron Shire home. In Melbourne I presented various electronic music radio shows on 3PBS FM, was a founding member of the Global Eyes music/art project and a regular fixture on Melbourne’s underground dj scene spinning at intimate affairs through to clubs and larger festivals including Earthcore,  Rainbow Serpent & The Eclipse Festival. I love to play music to an adventurous dancefloor.
