Standing under the memorial at night,
The Stars and Stripes shine so bright,
But I remember back to another time,
When they were covered in mud, blood and grime.

We landed in Da Nang in 69,
Shipped out towards the front ahead of time,
Bright lads bright faces around me shone,
Little did I know most of them will soon be gone.

Soon we were, 
riding Hueys into battle above the trees.
On the ground every tree, 
whispered words in Vietnamese, 

It's kill or be killed, 
that's for sure.
You lead your patrol out, 
seeking more,

Make contact with the enemy,
Hunt him down, 
and kill many, 
that's the plan.

Every pathway lined with fire,
triggered by a tripwire,
every step could be your last,
blown apart by the blast.

Fathers lost along every trail,
Their sons still enlisting without fail,
How do we stop this war machine,
that is consuming everything.

I still wake up to the sound,
of Hueys coming to the ground,
dropping men into the fray
None still live to this day.

We came home, 
but no one cheered,
we did our duty, 
without fear.

Now we are all forgotten by time.
But I still see me in my prime,
Fighting to keep my men alive,
as our Government denied and denied.

I look back to the Memorial,
I Think of the men I lost, 
that did never see another light of day,
Those that gave all for our today.

After a successful release of Phu Quoc Odyssey Remix in August 2022, MATTY returns with a brand new remix of “Bà Ngoại” produced by Determind.
In this track, Determind and Matty are combining a melodic house vibe with the traditional Vietnamese ceremony “Điệu thức vàng son”
The remix is intense, and the dynamic is stunning! Matty has smartly respected the original vibe but added his energy.

This project is a song that blends traditional Vietnamese music with afro, progressive House track. The lyrics are inspired by the poem and song Em Đi Chùa Hương by Nguyễn Nhược Pháp and tells the story of a Vietnamese lady going to pray at the well-known Parfume Pagoda, Chùa Hương. Lorence V and Determind produced the track together and worked with professional Đàn bầu and Đàn tranh players: Trần Trung and Thương Huyền, and vocalist Chi Chi.

Currently based in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, he is dedicated to building and shaping the city’s growing electronic music scene, while continuing to expand his global presence.

Having spent years perfecting his craft, Giulio’s music is a reflection of his life experiences—thoughtful, inspiring, and always grounded in a desire to connect with listeners. His tracks and mixes draw from a vast spectrum of influences, but his true signature sound blends Detroit-inspired techno and house with a unique, personal twist.

Giulio’s journey in the techno world began in 2009, when he started playing a distinct blend of techno and house, with nods to his Detroit roots. As a resident DJ in New York City, he performed regularly across iconic venues in Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Queens, where he built a reputation for his intense energy and seamless mixes. Now in Phnom Penh, Giulio is eager to support the city’s emerging electronic music scene, contributing to the growth of local talent and fostering an environment where fresh, innovative music can flourish. He aims to introduce his signature mix of thought-provoking techno and house to new audiences, while mentoring up-and-coming DJs and producers in Cambodia.

As an audio engineer, Giulio’s technical prowess is exceptional. With over a decade of live sound experience, his mixing and sonic blending skills are second to none, a quality that’s evident in every track he produces. His in-depth understanding of both hardware and software, combined with formal education in music technology, forms the backbone of his approach to both live performance and studio production.

Whether in the studio, behind the decks, or in the community, Giulio’s goal remains the same: to create next-level music that resonates with listeners on a deeper level, elevating the dancefloor experience while building a lasting legacy in the evolving world of electronic music.
