Welcome to 2025! 

A new year and a new series appropriately called Essentials - highlighting the quintessential music that is making me move. Still influenced by the melodic and progressive house genres but allowing other styles to flow through. Much like the artwork: flowing and organic but most importantly, captivating. Those that have been with me since the start know that first and foremost it's about great music, regardless of what box or genre it's being placed in. And the first mix of the year is just that, inspired by the great music, producers and DJ's, but above all an eclectic set of incredible music. I hope you enjoy!

Winter of Friends at Schkeuditz Planetarium 3

May the force be with you.
This time it's off into the universe in a musical planetarium mix with a good bass drum kick at the beginning. Off into unknown expanses. In space, we overcome the inertia of the masses and start dancing. In the sound, we lose ourselves in time and space.

Then there is a push again. The gravity of the galaxy pulls us into dark matter and catapults us into a new dimension of the solar system. The entry into orbit and the atmosphere of a new planet is reflected in the music. Then comes the gentle, invisible landing.

The set includes old and new interpretations of tracks by well-known artists and bands. Have fun with it. Share or comment on the mix if you like it.

In this new episode of #QRadioShow, I present the #7AM Mix – the energetic counterpart to the Midnight Mix. While the Midnight Mix was deep and organic, this one brings high energy, bold electronic textures, and vibrant Afro grooves.

The 7AM Mix carries the same harmonic structure as its predecessor but shifts the mood to reflect the rising energy of the early morning. It's an exhilarating journey, moving from deep house roots to powerful melodic peaks, fueled by rhythmic intensity and vibrant Afro influences. From the first note, the music pulses with momentum, building into a mix that feels as if the sun is finally breaking through the night sky, sparking a new day full of promise.

In the opening, I’ve used a unique atmosphere built around a frequency of 174Hz, designed to induce a feeling of awakening. Complementing this, a "wake-up" sound permeates the introduction, enhancing the sense of transition from night to day, adding a sense of freshness and urgency to the set.

Each track has been handpicked to complement this shift, featuring the latest sounds of 2025, alongside classics that still carry weight. The 7AM Mix will take you through an energetic ride, with driving bass, uplifting melodies, and euphoric transitions. Think of it as the sound of the city waking up to a new day—bold, dynamic, and unstoppable.

Although just a year into his journey behind the decks, Ascetic Saga already crafts immersive musical narratives through Afro Tech, Melodic Afro, Deep House, and beyond. His mixes stand out for their sense of subtle tension, groove, and an unmistakable love for storytelling.

He is currently focused on DJing and curates Jumanne Sessions — a weekly mix series where modern Afro aesthetics meet introspective moods.
