Taken from their forthcoming album, ‘Movements’, long-time friends Sasa Crnobrnja and Clement Cachot-Coulom, combine as Auf Togo to release ‘Pan Con Tomate’, which is out now via SaS Recordings. The wandering psych-funk single is the result of the pairs shared love for Cosmic disco sound of the last 70’s/early 80’s, blending the sounds of electronic, rock, funk and beyond. 

Sasa and Clem, come from opposite worlds but share a deep respect for one another’s art. Sasa Crnobrnja originating from the deep, disco-laced house duo of In Flagranti (Kitsune, Phantasy, Gomma & more) and also Mytron & Ofofo (Les Yeux Orange) combines with, Clement Cachot-Coulom from bands The Fabulous Penetrators and Big Girls. Meeting in London around 2009, the pair have since developed a strong friendship and musical togetherness. In Sasa, Clem found someone who allowed him to explore a variation of styles and genres, breaking free of the creative shackles of songwriting for a band. 

Combining as Auf Togo, the pair now look towards the LP format to showcase their wide-ranging eclecticism that has won them plaudits so far. Through rich production sounds and vintage flavour, they maintain the solid edge of modern studio sounds. The album promises to expand on the sound they have already ventured into on their previous releases; loose and improvised yet firmly within the confines of house music. 

First single, ‘Pan Con Tomate’ is and ode to psych-funk, tinged with jazz flicks and riffs the track bounces so a solid 4x4 beat. Tied down by hypnotic grooves and solid production, the track signals the intent of Sasa & Clem on the forthcoming album, ‘Movements’ which is set for release in September. 

Offering a new proposition from the pair, ‘Movements’ is an invitation from Sasa & Clem to join them on their eclectic journey as Auf Togo. From 70’s psych-rock to Balearic Beats, from Space Disco to Afro Beat, this is an LP unashamed to wear its influences on its sleeve.

Auf Togo is the long-time collaboration between Sasa Crnobrnja and Clement Cachot-Coulom, who merge their sounds and experiences for their album, ‘Movements’ out 24th September via SaS Recordings. Japanese-born and London based Hiro Ama, drummer in the British pop band Teleman and solo artist on seminal label PRAH Recordings is remixing Pan Con Tomate here by giving the track a french house make-over. 
He brings up the tempo a bit, adds a more percussive rhythmic section and reinvents the original melodies to take Pan Con Tomate from the Balearic Beach discotheque into the club's main room...

“There was no masterplan for ‘Movements’, we just went about making music together in the way we would normally. We wanted to make people dance together in a club and bring together our shared musical interests, it was important to us with the album that it had a strong positive vibe underpinning the whole thing. We could envisage the tracks as Clem was playing the riffs and the album came together in the most natural way” – Auf Togo (Sasa Crnobrnja and Clement Cachot-Coulom)

As Auf Togo, they present a sound that echoes the richness and flavour of vintage recording equipment and instruments whilst holding the edge and sharpness of modern studio techniques. With this comes a loose, almost improvised sound that operates well within the rigid confines of house music, blurring the lines at every opportunity. With 4 successful releases already to their name, plus two well-received collaborations with duo Becker & Mukai, they now turn their attentions to the LP format to express their full eclecticism. 

From the louche Hawaiian jazz opening of ‘Along The Dotted Line’ to the psych-funk of ‘Pan Con Tomate’, and from the electronic wanderings of ‘Mexico’ to the cinematic intensity of closing ballad ‘Radical Departures’, the scope of ‘Movements’ is wide. Providing a captivating glimpse into the minds of Sasa and Clem, as it slides in tempo and pace, embracing an ever-expanding volume of styles and genres on its way. 

Unconventional in its production, stems and samples are extracted from Clement’s riffs and jams on guitar, bass and keys, all of which are then ultimately sown together by Sasa’s expert production skills. The result is ‘Movements’, representing elements of both artists. With tracks that fit both strongly within the club setting tied down by their raw, hypnotic grooves and absorbing songs that are suited to home-entertaining, the album is reinforced with a consistent positive energy.

PREMIERE: Auf Togo - A Little Bit Deeper [SaS Recordings]

Legendary NYC producers Justin Strauss and Max Pask have joined up to form a new project called Each Other, and together they've been remixing the hippest names in music and it wasn't long until influential musical impresarios Soulwax signed them for a string of
acclaimed EPs on their seminal record imprint Deewee.
It is such a pleasure and an honour for us at https://soundcloud.com/sounds-17 to have those two legends remix “A Little Bit Deeper” one of the (many) great tracks on Auf Togo's new album "Movements".
Here they manage to transform the Balearic tones of the original song into a New-York-City dance floor anthem. They artfully manage to keep the essence of the original track by making its beautiful vocals shine under this new light.

Emotional Response presents the final recordings of the Saint Petersburg Disco Spin Club, a loose band alias of Kirill Sergeew aka Kito Jempere.  Principally active for just a few years, these recordings were never finalised – lost as such, until now.
Growing out of Kito’s productions, the 8-piece band, including friends Lipelis (Public Possession / Animals Dancing) and Sergey Lipsky (Simple Symmetry), was developed to create live transformations of his music. 
The EP captures SPDSC at their peak; working with a desire to experiment via live improvisation.  Can’t You See Me, their version of an earlier studio release, morphs the original’s melodic 4/4 in to an expansive, surround sound slo-mo Balearic funk experience for the heavens. 
This is backed with a remix by Auf Togo Meets Becker & Mukai.  After EPs on Leng, Aug Togo, aka Clement Cachot-Coulom and Sasha Crnobrnja (In Flagranti), previously teamed up with Jean-Gabriel Becker and Susumu Mukai (Zongamin), for an acclaimed EP on SaS Recordings. Sasa's remix of Becker & Mukai's Time Very Near is out today !!

This is the fifth in our series of remixes of the tracks on Becker & Mukai's debut album Time Very Near.
We're huge fans of Inflagranti, Mytron & Ofofo and obviously Auf Togo and Sasa has been a close collaborator and a friend for years now, so it was completely logical we would ask him to re-invent a track on this project. We're so happy he accepted and re-invent he did, oh boy, by taking us on a trip to Jamaica and back...

This will be the last release before Christmas and before the physical release of the whole project on the 15th January 2021.
So a massive thank you to our amazing team of remixers:
Sasa Crnobrnja, Joe Goddard, Zongamin, Ama//Mizu, Jas Shaw and Lux Prima.
