Atmospherics is Soul Intent’s fourth studio long player and sees him explore interstellar soundscapes via his Exkursions imprint. Anyone familiar with Alex’s work will have likely picked up that he has a soft-spot for science fiction and Atmospherics draws on influences from classic movies through to seminal ambient electronica LPs such as Biosphere’s “Patashink”, Global Communications “76:14” and Aphex Twin's “Selected Ambient Works”.

Music to take you off to the outer reaches... Crisp studio mix from label owner PHD and MC DRS circa 1999. Perfect combination of deep atmospheric ambience and melodies, tough beats, rolling basslines and DRS's lyrical stylings driving the vibe forwards...
PHD had a cache of wicked tunes (some still sadly unreleased) that never quite had the same exposure as the rest of the GLR camp but stood tall in their own right. Some exceptional music makers feature on this mix as well as appearing across the Ascendant Grooves release catalogue. One of those mixes that has never dated and still gets regularly aired. I am primarily a D&B DJ since the late 90s, but I also play 70's Funk and Disco. I have played at events alongside Goldie, Doc Scott, Adam F, Klute, Nicky Blackmarket, Ed Rush & Optical, Randall, Grooverider, Bryan G, Hype, High Contrast, Brockie and more.
I have presented on Ipswich pirate Flex FM, as well as presenting on Ipswich Community Radio since 2000, and have interviewed Marcus Intalex, Klute, Bad Company, BCee and Mark & Clayton of TOV/Renegade Hardware.

Mixes are usually vinyl and turntables with a bit of DVS only where strictly necessary :)
