The Before Columbus Foundation 2018 Winner of the AMERICAN BOOK AWARD Tommy J. Curry&#8217s provocative book The Man-Not is a justification for Black Male Studies. He posits that we should conceptualize the Black male as a victim, oppressed by his sex. The Man-Not, therefore,is a corrective of sorts, offering a concept of Black males that could challenge the existing accounts of Black men and boys desiring the power of white men who oppress them that has been proliferated throughout academic research across disciplines.Curry argues that Black men struggle with death and suicide, as well as abuse and rape, and their genred existence deserves study and theorization. This book offers intellectual, historical, sociological, and psychological evidence that the analysis of patriarchy offered by mainstream feminism (including Black feminism) does not yet fully understand the role that homoeroticism, sexual violence, and vulnerability play in the deaths and lives of Black males. Bob Carnegie, a working-class activist, discusses the 1985 SEQEB dispute in Australia, emphasizing its historical and personal significance. He highlighted the global economic context, including Reagan's anti-union policies and Thatcher's monetarist approach, which led to widespread de-industrialization.

 In Australia, the Prices and Incomes Accord weakened union power, reducing union membership from 51% to 12%. The Electrical Trade Union's fight against subcontracting in the electricity industry sector led to the sacking of 1,007 workers and widespread blackouts. Despite the defeat, Bob Carnegie stressed the importance of resisting tyranny and injustice, quoting William Z. Foster on the value of fighting for working-class rights: "No strike or struggle is wholly ever lost, that it's far, far better to fight a losing fight than to have never fought at all. And most tellingly, he said that an unresisting working class will soon find itself on a rice diet."

I make the kind of music that I like to listen to. Its got some of everything. We aren't just one dimensional. so I like to write music, and use rock, alternative, edm, hip hop, dance, and anything with some relatable theme. Ive been writing since I was a teenager, but lately felt that Im to quiet. Maybe with some beats, and some hype and a bit of melody we can become renegades together.
