It is impossible to replace the elements of a complex instrumental or electronic track with a single voice. Hence I just roughly imitated the basic tempo of my recent video soundtrack 'Drive' 
(available at https://youtu.be/cCRMg1JtFrM)
I recorded my vocalisations while playing the track then added various fx to create the illusion of multiple voices. The final result does not bear much resemblance to the original but was fun to do and should not be taken too seriously.

Voicedrive (disquiet0633)

Disquiet Junto 0633, "Voice Swap", suggested recreating an existing piece using my voice. The easiest way to do this, of course, was to travel back in time and become my own producer. 

The original piece, "(It Begins With) Unrest", opened the last album by A Little Fire Scarecrow and also opened my weekly studio stream during the plague years.

BE ADVISED: You haven't heard a backward drum hit until you've heard it with headphones on.

A Recipe for Unrest (disquiet0633)

For this project I wanted to re-record my Jamuary track “Glitched Guitar / Lots of Ripples”. I chose this track because I thought it was just a simple guitar melody and a bit of knob twisting with effects and therefore easy to reproduce with voice.

Alas the original track was made with Norns Glitchlooper - a five track asynchronous looper with a mind of its own - fed into Norns RPLS, which can be a delay, a looper or anything in between. So it was really impossible to get the same result. Also pitched voices don’t have the same appeal as pitched guitar plucks. My submission sounds a bit like a birdhouse after you handed out the wrong birdseed. Still, it was a fun challenge to try and do this based on just voice.

I replaced the instrumental parts of a track I completed for ixi Music's Patreon Challenge, in January (https://soundcloud.com/wasabicube/andiamo?si=c1d963b8e5ba48eab5ccaf512118e147&utm_source=clipboard&utm_medium=text&utm_campaign=social_sharing), with samples of my voice saying "Disquiet Junto, number six hundred and thirty-three". The only original track is a field recording of the voice of ice skaters, skating in Union Square, San Francisco, at Christmas, many years ago. The samplers I used were TAL Sampler and Ableton's Simpler. I also used Klevgränd's Tomofon, with an instrument based on the same sample, for the "strings".

I create original experiential music from NOSIGNAL Multimedia Lab in Chicago. The Hard Times described my music as "creepy, haunted, but also a little bit uplifting." Prolific.
