Heavily influenced by Super Mario Sunshine, this unfinished track was produced about 4 years ago but was eventually "lost" as my laptop got water damaged during the lockdown. Luckily, I was able to retrieve some of my data from the hard drive and wanted to release it as is, while I'm currently working on new songs.

With his forthcoming album Dofflin Beach, Danish producer icfam invites listeners into the shimmering, slippery world of dofflin — a bright, futuristic, and mostly forgotten subgenre of electronic music from mid 2010s.

Conceived as the soundtrack to a behind-the-scenes video from an imaginary world tour, Dofflin Beach plays like a surreal travel diary: a jet-lagged superstar wandering from a beach party where “everyone was stang-bacardi,” to a sunrise jam session with bongos, synths, and even synth-bongos. Amongst the dancing people, a digital video camera gets tossed around, capturing the energy in fragments.

“Trying to capture the essence of dofflin is a slippery affair,” icfam admits. Yet on Dofflin Beach he leans into those early inspirations and influences, reimagining them in his own way about a decade later. It’s music that evokes both longing and belonging.

From beach to beach, to the imaginary private jet studio over the open sea, this album is a postcard from a place where dofflins do sing and play.

Alexandre Doré is French-Canadian DJ/Producer Funken, a 90’s video game theme songs freak going places around the globe. Taking the world by storm with his personal productions, his blend of jazzy J-Pop music and Jersey Club sounds is swirling listeners into a neon vibes universe.

After years of experimenting with different sounds under his former artist name, Ahllex, he became a local opening act for headliners like Downlink, Designer Drugs, Clockwork (RL Grime), Dooze Jackers (Snails), Botnek, and many more. He has also featured at multiple festivals such as Woodstock en Beauce, îleSoniq, Valhalla Sound Circus, Skins Party, and many more, covering the US, Canada, and Indonesia with ease. Gaining attention and signing on labels like Dim Mak (Steve Aoki’s), Simma (Low Steppa’s) among many others, he has acquired enough background and maturity to start his new project, Funken, in late 2017.

In 2018, his self-released debut singles ‘Homeworlds’ & ‘Bubblegum Bliss’ reached over 25,000 listens around the web, establishing his style over that year. Funken’s sound is best described as a combination of old-school FM synthesized harmonies, N64 samples, and tweaked Balinese gamelan mixed with his pixelated racetrack-styled melodies. With his sights strictly set on new material for this year, there is simply no way for him to downshift!
