I picked apart the veins in my wrist, until they’re no longer intertwined.
Cigarette burns all over my skin, they tell all the stories I’d never share.
Your lips outline my scars like they’re evidence.
You kissed them in hopes they would disappear.

“I’ll be the ring of roses around your body to shelter you from this storm”.
But there’s a ring of hollow notes when I sing our songs, cause now I sing alone.
So I hum.

I couldn’t show my face at your funeral, to see you at your worst in your sunday’s best.
You were a dashing rogue from a passed time, but this world no longer has room for romance.
They said you were spitting out cotton candy pink.
Your flooded lungs couldn’t exhale the words you had left.

There’s a ring of roses around your body, your bullet-embedded form.

I hoped that I misunderstood.
I sharpened my knife on my skin,
laid waste to my sins that did not exist.

I hope that I judge myself by my own standards I've set.

I still see all the marks on my neck from the rope as I swung from the ceiling.

Still a work in progress but has been completely re-written from scratch on the MPC LIVE III. 

Tempo, key, scale, and lyrics were  then fed into a voice generator, and sampled, chopped, and processed in the MPC.

Lastly, it was stemmed back out into Orion for extra tracks and processing.
