Here's an Alt Rock track originally written in 2015 - now remixed for final release in March 2025. Stylistic influence: David Bowie / Robert Fripp / Lou Reed.

I Don't Fit In

The crew begins to get sloppy, with one midshipmen getting a bit too carried away with the grog one evening while on duty. The captain orders him to spend the night in the crows nest as punishment, forced to endure the bitter cold winds. He turns around to look at the north star, drunkenly recalling his teenage years before drifting off to sleep.

I wrote this song when I was 15 and originally called it "Stargazer". Did some revisions and additions and now it's "Polaris".

I used to write songs for other artists and thought that getting covers was what it was all about. Whenever I heard the end results of what other artists, producers or A&R people would do with my songs, I always found it disappointing. So I started creating in other areas,  inventing the Stepp digital guitar and founding several startups in mobile and healthcare.  Then about twelve years ago I started writing again but this time I wrote for myself and rediscovered my passion for the craft of songwriting.

I play a Fender Jazzmaster (my current go-to), American Fender Tele, Taylor acoustic, Epiphone Sheraton II Pro, Fender Jazz Bass, Line 6 Variax JTV, Stepp DG1 (of course!), Nord Piano 5/MIDI keyboard, Gretsch Lap Steel and am learning pedal steel on a Sho-Bud Pro pedal steel guitar. 

The Soundcloud community has fostered my motivation for songwriting and music discovery. Thanks for listening - every comment, constructive or otherwise inspires me.

the PERSON, the SOUND : Since 1985, Philadelphia-born Michael has composed and released hundreds of audio recordings, and published books of poems and a university thesis on Halloween.

His 'sonic-sojourn' sparked intensely in his teens. After discovering the works of Duran Duran and Brian Eno, he vowed to 'birth sound' for the rest of his life.

Sharbaugh has relocated to a small village outside Atlanta, Georgia, and continues to voraciously attend to his dream -- to create and release music that he, himself, wants to hear.

Michael's signature sound merges the sexy R&B, industrial trip-hop, and spacey psychedelia he has grown to adore -- having absorbed the edgy rhythms and dreamy soul of the southern United States (Atlanta and Miami).

Michael puts forth ample amounts of ambient musics, and his recent sound hovers elsewhere -- amidst the dream pop, IDM, vaportrap, spacerock, and trip-hop works he adores.

Phillip Foxley is a songwriter and musician. He writes and produces multi-genre music for licensing or covers from his home studio in Conwy, North Wales, UK.

With influences from every corner of the world, Foxley has now released his own debut album entitled “I’ll Try ‘Till I Die”, an eclectic collection of original blistering blues rock guitar and soft acoustic and piano tracks written over the years. Foxley says “Every track on this album means so much and every note is from my very soul”.

“This album is like my musical life story. It’s also a ‘big’ album in that there are over twenty tracks on it already and, because I don’t intend to release any more albums, I just keep adding tracks to it as they are released”.
