This song is an about a man who realizes all at once that his memory is fading.   He writes the song in hopes that singing it will make him remember his loving wife when his dementia has advanced. The setting is an assisted living facility and he sings this song to her when she visits.  Sometimes it works and sometimes it does not. The experience is at once hopeful and painful.

THE STORY BEHIND THE SONG: I was going through a notebook of all the songs I have written over the years.  I found one song I wrote way back in June of 1978 (I was 24 at the time).  It's a song about all the songs I had written.  The title of the song was "Songs."  The words kept on repeating "getting old" for some reason.  Now that I'm 70 years old, that line would now be correct.  I AM getting old.  So I rewrote several lines to that song speaking more about my Christian experience and how Jesus has set me free.

Getting Old

Original song I started writing this back in 2016. It was one of those songs that I always felt like it was missing something...and years later it really came together. Sometimes it's just about the right timing. I'm thankful of the inspiration from such a beautiful soul(Cherry) Such amazing memories! From meeting at a downtown Austin music venue, flying up to Canada, to walking across a small town bridge. Thanks for listening!:)

For the Rest of Your Life (Original song live)

Hey! Thanks for stopping by!:) All recordings done on my old Baldwin piano that my amazingly talented grandma gave me. I'd like to think it holds some magic. All original songs, recorded live. I took a few years of classical lessons when I was very young. Fond memories bicycling down E. Brown street to my lessons. Dearest Faye...sweetest teacher ever. 

Throughout the years I'd always tinker on my Mom's old 1900 Ludwig piano through passing, playing songs I had learned, like Fur Elise and The Spinning Song, but it wasn't till I was in college when I fell in love with those keys. There was an old upright in the student center that I'd sneak off to late at night, and ever since then the playing has never stopped, and it never will. I never knew I could even make up melodies, let alone write a song. What a therapy it has been over the years, expressing myself through experiences, a forever believer, and feelings of the hopeless romantic in me. God is good! I'm so thankful. I hope to connect with many and make new friends. Hope you enjoy the songs!:)
