The latest on Warehouse Music comes courtesy of Joshua James: ‘Love To Do It’ which samples the iconic, pleasure-seeking vocals of American drag vocalist Roxy and The Ride Committee.

For the original mix, the London DJ gives Roxy’s ‘90s house lyrics an electro makeover, twisting around mangled samples, vibrant snares and bubbling slapback delays. Keeping true to the artist's wild vocal stylings and referencing the queer underground sound James has called home.

On the flip, label boss Mella Dee takes us back into four-four territory on the first of two remixes. The ‘Law & Disorder’ mix works James’ dialled-up modern sass into a hypnotic loop, rolling into the heart of the club via a deep house bassline.

Meanwhile, the 'Split Your Wig’ mix strips the track down to body-poppin’ 909s and swirling percussion, paying tribute to NYC club culture via drum machine.

PHA₦TA5IA sprawled beneath ☰THERIA like the fevered vision of a poet caught between ecstasy and madness. It was a realm where decadence and decay entwined, where the cities rose not in orderly grace but in wild, beautiful chaos, grand structures crumbling even as they were adorned, ancient stone overtaken by vines that pulsed with life, as if each leaf, each petal, was born from a love that had turned reckless and heady with the taste of its own mortality.

Here, the sun blazed with a hunger unknown to other worlds, casting shadows that danced and writhed, slipping into shapes that teased the edge of perception. In this light, reality grew slippery, distorted by the haze of desires unquenched, unashamed, a fever-dream of lust and longing that permeated the streets like incense. And when night descended, it came alive with secrets murmured like forbidden promises, each whisper a shiver, each glance a fleeting sin that the darkness embraced and cherished.

Nothing in PHA₦TA5IA was meant to last. It was a place where the line between creation and destruction blurred, where beauty and ruin were lovers entwined in an endless dance. Pleasure here was like a flame, illuminating and consuming all it touched, and pain was its echo, a reminder that even in the height of passion, there lay the shadow of loss. The Phantasians moved through this world as though on a stage, their lives a masquerade of indulgence, driven by yearnings that seemed to rise from the earth itself, ancient and primal, desires they neither understood nor wished to tame. They laughed, they wept, they made love and war with equal fervor, unaware or perhaps willfully blind to the invisible hands that shaped their fates.

For above them, the Puppet Masters watched, their cold, elegant gaze casting its shadow over every fervent touch, every whispered vow, every fleeting joy and sorrow. In the vast theater of PHA₦TA5IA, the Phantasians were but actors, unaware of the strings that bound them, oblivious to the unseen eyes that delighted in their folly. And yet, even as they reveled, they held themselves above, casting their gaze down to the depths of the world below, to the Subterrans they saw as lesser, the creatures of shadow and toil whose existence justified their own glittering decadence.

In PHA₦TA5IA, hierarchy was an art as delicate as it was cruel, spun by the Puppet Masters with the precision of a blade’s edge. The Phantasians, lost in their opulent dream, believed themselves blessed, chosen to live in the light, forever protected from the darkness below. Yet they danced on a precipice, a mere breath away from falling, their souls burning with a fervor so bright it could only end in ash.

Okay, okay. Quick history backstory.  Drums as a child, and through his 20's.  Turntables, and loads of vinyl before entering the digital realm.  Nick has been busy with all that noise for two and half decades.  Growing up on rock, grunge, 90's electronic, hip hop, and everything in between rounded out his senses for music, and what appealed to him.  A taste ever evolving leaving him playing house, techno, minimal, acid, downtempo, and breakbeat.  Now with over 20 years of experience you can expect great track selection, crowd reading, and flawless mixing.  This journey has seen him play in cities through Western Canada, and with larger acts from abroad including the likes of Mark Farina, Tipper, Kevin Yost, James Teej, Pezzner, Dirt Crew, Detroit Swindle, Noah Pred, Rob Paine, and many more.  

After spending many years as a key part of Left Coast Crew in Victoria BC as a DJ/Promoter, he is back In Saskatchewan where he started this journey. The new vision is to rekindle his old connections and push his promotion brand The Motive To Move (TM2) to new heights, and entertain as many party people as possible.

 True underground representation always in mind!
