Irish DJ and producer @cici-cavanagh has unveiled her debut EP ‘Extraneous’, out July 16 on @melladeemusic’s Warehouse Music label. A four-track release, ‘Extraneous’ kicks off with the title-track, a fizzing, breakbeat-driven bomb that has already been supported by BBC Radio 1 and BBC Introducing, where it found its way onto Jaguar’s ‘Hot List’. 

Check the premiere of ‘Katnip’, a heads-down cut, characterised by a driving 303 bassline and hypnotic vocal sample.

Larry de Kat is not necessarily known for his hip hop productions, but the illusive producer has turned up with an EP that explores his production pallet a little further afield that his usual house and techno output.

A track that could easily be just as at home on a beat tape as it is on this EP, I Still Don’t (Part II) takes summertime grooves to a new level. Soothing saxophone lies next to subtle flute flickers, a charming little vocal sample and a deep, rich bassline make this beat one of our new firm favourites.

Rising London born producer and DJ, Melle Brown continues to deliver glimmering house grooves through her productions and mixes. She blends nostalgia with elements of sunrise and sunset dance moments and influences of neo-soul, tech and deep house to create soundscapes unique to her. 

Melle first made waves when her Intersection EP dropped on Jamz Supernova’s Future Bounce label ft. GRAMMY nominated Tiana Major9 in 2019. The project received rave reviews from household names like Elton John to Trevor Nelson; kickstarting a flourishing career. Then followed several singles, including fan favourites 'One More Chance' and 'Night Drift', whilst adding remixes for Aluna, Diplo and Mark Knight to her catalogue. Summer 2022 saw Melle release ‘Feel About You’ with radio legend Annie Mac on vocals. The track was named as one of Billboard’s 'Best Dance Tracks of The Year' and included remixes from DJ Koze, HoneyLuv and the soulful house veteran Sean McCabe. 

Winning over her fellow artist community with her irresistible fusion of throwback sonics and modern electronics, Melle has been invited to support sets by Kerri Chandler, Patrick Topping and Ewan McVicar, and has played at places such as Pikes Hotel, Glastonbury, Warehouse Project, and Fabric.

Previously tipped as One To Watch by Mixmag, Melle is also an experienced broadcaster, covering BBC Radio 1’s Future Dance Show for Sarah Story and regularly dropping by Defected Broadcasting Radio for special radio events.

There are multitudes of deejays and many more producers but there are very few who are great performers. Katnip Trax realizes it's always about the performance every moment he is entertaining and serves up incredible moves of a great musician. Every sample and beat is worked visibly by the latest technology of today.  Every performance he does yields new ideas for future releases. Katnip Trax (Dennis Etnel) was born and raised in Dutch-speaking Suriname (South America)  where multicultural sounds are very well known. He took that culture to Brooklyn as a teenager and re-invented it with New York swagger creating the unique Katnip sound. With his wide knowledge and appreciation of every kind of music genre he spent every waking hour in the studio until he was discovered by Gerard McNamee ,the manger of New York's Webster Hall who felt the energy that was pouring out of this young man.  After a 7 years residency at Webster Hall, he decided it was time to grow as an artist and started performing at other venues such as Pacha, Santo's Party House, Sullivan Room, Stage 48, Club Envy, Lavo, Club Fifty Miami, and C-Level Rooftop Terrace Miami.  He has also played overseas in Belgium, Holland, Colombia, Brazil, and Suriname just to name a few.  Every track he brought to the dance floor was fused with his signature blend of loops and special effects. In addition to the latest hits and underground tracks he also delivered his pounding and highly mastered bootlegs.  Over the years he has bootlegged popular artists such as Usher, Adele, Flo-rida, David Guetta, Chris Brown, Ne-Yo, Deadmau5, Chris Willis, P.Diddy, Busta Rhymes, Soca artist Machel Montano, and many more.  His bootlegs are original productions have gained the support of  Sensation White players Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano as well as Funk D, Afro Bros., and many more.  Last year saw Katnip Trax exposed to a whole new audience as he was selected to perform live on stage to thousands of viewers on international TV with Magic Juan for the Miss Colombia 2013 Swimsuit Beauty Pageant in Colombia.  Katnip Trax was also recently sponsored by Smithsonmartin Inc. to perform on the Emulator, the worlds first multi-touch DJ system.  The Emulator allows the crowd to see his lightning moves through a giant transparent see-through mixer.  Katnip Trax has everything has the skills, talent, and passion to take the EDM world by storm and is definitely a name to watch for in 2014.
