Hey peeps,

here's my 3-hour closing set at ORPHIC. This was a really special one for me as I've been going to the Orphic parties quite a bit. From the first time visiting I wanted to play here. The crowd and vibe at these parties is zero to none, and the organisation is a lovely group of people with a very community-based mindset. 

I wanted to do something special, and I think you can hear that in this set. It's a very hypnotic and heavy set, ranging from very emotive to heavy dark tracks, with a lot of layering going on. There's a few small moments that are slightly messy as I was constantly playing with multiple decks at once, but that makes it human ;). The recording cut out at 2:50:00, so I edited the last few tracks in to ensure a safe landing after 3 hours. 

Hope you'll enjoy it as much as I did playing this.

Linear System is an artist based in Costa Rica who has close ties to the highly regarded Scottish imprint, Edit Select Records. A label that has released four out of five of his studio albums, as well as several EPs in just a few years. Outside of his regular appearances on the highly respected Glasgow stable, he also lists quality additions to his back catalogue such as Ben Sims' Symbolism, Marco Bailey's MATERIA, Abstract Division's Dynamic Reflection, Ricardo Garduno's Illegal Alien, Marco Lenzi's Molecular, BCCO, and Detroit-based Blank Code, as well as his own Modern Minimal that started life in 2022. Molecular Recordings, which was founded in 1994, has recently experienced a renaissance with a string of exceptional releases, launching a new chapter in their history that has featured artists like DJ Bone and Chris Liebing.

Linear System is a Costa Rica-based techno artist closely affiliated with Edit Select Records, which has released four of his five studio albums along with several EPs. His discography also includes respected labels like Symbolism, MATERIA, Dynamic Reflection, Illegal Alien, Molecular, BCCO, Blank Code, and his own imprint Modern Minimal, launched in 2022.

For this DT:Premiere we selected his track “Hyacinthus” with a haunting atmosphere and pulsing rhythm. Space in the cavernous groove is the key here with the vocal chant of "breathe" reaffirming the intention of a heads down, raw and stripped back thunderbolt.

Following up from the launch album release on his Achievement Label, Wigbert has curated a discerning remix package that includes artists such as Linear System, Cirkle, Red Rooms, NWHR, E2NMN, Anna Hjalmarsson, and Toru Ikemoto.
