Paul Presents Newbury Symphony Orchestra

Inside/Outside (for flute, oboe, trombone, violin, viola and cello) was written in 2002 for a concert at Amsterdam's Posthoorn Church in commemoration of John Cage's death. The whole space of the church was used. I used Cage's time brackets technique and wanted to convey a world in flux - an airy, transparent sound world containing slightly worrying moments, as well as, most of all, hope.

The ocean's waves are always in motion, flowing between the land and the sea. Like the changing of the tides, "Tidal" shifts between the currents of two distinct musical modes. Each instrument smoothly weaves between crests of harmonious sound, creating a grandiose piece full of movement and life.

"Tidal" is a wind quintet written for flute, clarinet, oboe, bassoon, and French horn. This piece has been mixed by Rayzerfang Music using Logic Pro, using sounds from Note Performer, and was written using Sibelius Ultimate.

This piece was a short composition exercise on modal transition that I liked so much, I decided to mix it!

CANZONE DI NATALE (new)

A short looping game soundtrack written for chamber orchestra, inspired by Genshin Impact, Zelda Breath of the Wild, and the works of composer Gareth Coker. Chamber woodwinds take the centre stage to evoke a  light, whimsical atmosphere, and an English Horn takes the lead as the main soloist. The piece is sprinkled with accents of high metal and wooden percussion, chosen to represent the merchant's assortment of many wares. This is my first project orchestrating with Orchestral Tools' Berlin Orchestra, where the more intimate ORTF, close, leader, and spot microphones were essential in mixing the proper space for this piece. Tree and AB mics were used solely for the purpose of reverb. This is the second piece in which I've applied a top-down mixing workflow, the previous being "The Phoenix Gate."

I'm Antonio Porrino (Tonino).
Graduated in Physics in March 1979, I was Researcher in Theoretical Nuclear Physics at the "Federico II" University of Naples until November 2019.
I studied music, initially at the Conservatory of San Pietro a Maiella in Naples and then self-taught piano, organ and composition.
I have been married to Anna since July 1982 and we have 5 children, Fabio, Luca, Francesca, Cecilia, Vincenzo and 3 grandchildren, Antonio, Sofia and Vincenzo, Fabio's children, married to Sara.
I founded the polyphonic choir "Vicus Novanensis" in 1992 and in 2019 "I Cantori di Maria", which have collected the legacy of the numerous "long distance adoptions" of the previous choir.
The musical activity takes place mainly at the "Pontifical Minor Basilica of Maria Santissima Assunta" in Santa Maria a Vico (Italy).
I have composed music of various genres.
My music would like to express and transmit feelings of peace, serenity and joy, contrasting those of war, hatred and oppression that seem to prevail on planet Earth, causing the degradation of the natural environment that guards us.
