ROBIN FLUX @robinflux

Robin Flux is a German Producer, DJ, Dancer and Artist based in Copenhagen, Denmark. Being influenced by the early era of underground dance and club culture in the US, Robin developed his own unique style between House and Techno with discerning dips into Ballroom, Garage, Tribal, Breakbeat and Disco. 

Being active in the house dance, waacking and ballroom communities, creating queer safe spaces for dance culture and freedom of expression is a major drive for his work.

In recent years, he has played gigs and organized parties in many places around the world, including the US, Europe and Asia, while continuously releasing his music on international labels such as Miura Records, with features on XLR8R, The Lot Radio NYC and Dure Vie Paris, among others.

With his interpretation of Jenny Thiele’s “Loonie”, Robin Flux takes the singer/songwriter pop anthem to the club. Driven by chopped vocals, pulsing synths and heavy percussion he creates a raw, bouncy UK house track with a lo-fi synth-pop touch that is deeply inspired by the early club era of the 90s.

Loonie is originally created as the soundtrack for a road trip and seduces with a minimalistic 808 beat, an electric guitar theme and siren-like vocals. Thiele’s music is composed of her crystal-clear voice and reduced lyrics that speak of wanderlust and strange sensations.

Robin Flux is a multifaceted DJ/producer, dancer and curator based in Berlin, driven by his passion for exploring the rich cultural heritage of global dance and club cultures from the US to Asia. Through his artistic journey that spans iconic venues and functions from NYC, Chicago and Detroit, to Japan, Korea and Southeast Asia, he has developed an authentic voice as a multidisciplinary artist. His way of performing is heavily inspired by his background as a dancer, playful and daring, shifting in rhythm and pace across genre borders. As an active member of the ballroom, whacking and house dance scenes, he is dedicated to foster community building and cultural exchange at the intersection of dance and club culture, curating a diverse range of club concepts, dance sessions, performances and community events.
