The first episode is about starting – starting to be confident and doing what you're passionate about✨

For a long time, I wanted to do something with music. I love vinyl records, and I have my own collection, but I always listened to them by myself. Meanwhile, my friends kept asking me about new music recommendations. Some praised my taste in music, and others asked me to record a vinyl mix… But I kept putting it off, finding hundreds, if not thousands, of reasons not to do it. I think many of you can relate to this, haha 😂

One day, I wondered why I kept delaying… and I have to admit, it was fear. Fear that no one would listen to the mix, fear of what people would think since I'm not a professional musician… Then I thought, life is passing by, and I'm not doing what I truly want. This realization pushed me to start this music blog and share the music I love 🔊

So, I dedicate this first episode to everyone who is afraid to start. Don't be afraid, because an exciting journey might be ahead 🙂

Belfast selector NuJamz (Ryan Stewart) has been part of Northern Ireland’s underground scene for over twenty years. A regular at Thompsons Garage since 2013, he’s known for deep, hypnotic sets that move between house, disco, acid, and techno.

Between 2009 and 2013, he made several appearances at The Stiff Kitten and played Shine on NYE in the Bunatee Bar as well as other venues around the city before taking up his long-running position at Thompsons, a Belfast clubbing institution for over 30 years.

Currently holding a residency at Stereo Sessions, he has played alongside artists including Cinthie, Prosumer, Riva Starr, Eli Escobar, Sarah Story, and Dan Shake, earning a reputation for warm, flowing groove, precise technical control, and marathon sets that build energy over hours.

He is also a long-time guest for Jika Jika!, performing at Ebrington Square, Malin Head, and Sugar Nightclub, with standout appearances playing after Sasha and warming up for Dave Seaman and Fatboy Slim.

From 2014 to 2020, NuJamz hosted live shows on Belfast Underground Radio, in the record store supporting local DJs and streaming long-form mixes from the booth.  He also contributed an all Irish producer guest mix for BBC Radio Ulster.

Heading into 2026, you never know what to expect, he takes each day as it comes.

Andy Hughes is a man on a mission, he quickly became known as a consistent DJ who would throw down a thumping and varied set, suited to the moment, and to the crowd’s every need. Andy’s signature sets of Progressive House filled with energetic and funky twists have garnered devotees across America and beyond. From both US coasts to the UK and Ibiza, where he has received accolades from the press, promoters and punters alike. Andy’s launching pad was treating the neighborhood kids to the latest in pop music both at home and at school before he was 10 years old; he bought his first record when he was 4 years old! A musical background coupled with his eagerness to spread the musical word and Andy was DJing at age thirteen. 

As a member of the prestigious Balance Record Pool, Andy has managed to draw devoted followers from day one. Andy has been a resident DJ at some of Florida’s premier (and infamous) night clubs. Playing to packed houses all over the state at The Club At Firestone, Marz, The Edge, Simon’s in Gainesville just to name a few. At the same time he started conquering the US, becoming a regular in cities like Atlanta, Los Angeles, Washington DC, Charlotte, Portland, Seattle, Philadelphia, Ottawa, Toronto, New York, Indianapolis and more.

The ascension to making his own music was made and in ‘95 Andy wrote and produced his first track "Yummy" alongside friends Chris Marchese and Chris Hand. In Jan ‘96 the track was picked up by Knight Life Records and then licensed on to Big Time International (Belgium) and re-released with new mixes on Skyway UK where it topped the UK charts. Then a producers dream came true for Andy - it was bootlegged. Yeah! Since then, Andy has moved on to own his own recording studio and record label, taken the old adage "if you want it done right, do it yourself" to heart by starting up his own label, MAFDDAP (Mothers Against Fat Drunk DJs and Producers). Shooting for the stars since it’s inception in 1997, MAFDDAP has received compliment after compliment from record buyers, other DJs and press. In these few years, Andy has managed to pump out over 20 tracks, most all have been licensed to other labels and artists for remixes and mix compilations.

Andy signed mix CD deals with Neurodisc Records out of Fort Lauderdale. Andy’s first CD with Neurodisc “Andy Hughes – Progressive Elements Vol. 1” is the first Neurodisc CD to be distributed through the Capitol Records distribution network throughout the US. Also, Andy’s 2003 track “Gotham City” was featured on MTV’s Real World (Chicago series, episode XI). MTV has since then picked up 13 more of his tracks for the show. More recently, Andy has teamed up with adult film star Victoria Andrews to produce music for her website as well her single “I Want You” which she independently released. Other ventures Andy has finished recently are the release of his latest original track “Thirty Thirty” with remixes. Additionally, Andy Hughes has been Collaborating with Los Angeles DJ Thee-O, as well as Orlando DJ Martin Boss. In 2008, Jeff Belfi “Digital Damage (Andy Hughes and Jaren Skinner rework) was released and distributed through Beatport. In late 2009 Andy remixed the Rokysopp "Trick Trick" remix with co-producer Billy Z. In the future, look forward to more tracks from Andy and some with long time studio partner John Sexton!! Looking at Andy Hughes’s past one can only see the reflection of what is to come.

Don Play is North Carolina's legendary disco mixer. He has been changing records for over 20 years in his hometown of Boston, along with Detroit, New York, Cleveland, and now North Carolina. He hosts a 2-hour weekly radio show and podcast, "The Dance Megamix with Don Play," on Carrboro's community radio station, WCOM-LP 103.5 FM, as well as "Simply Paradise," an occasional club night at the Nightlight in Chapel Hill. ON | MADLEGIN has been a staple of the electronic underground since 2005. Originally from Kharkiv and a key representative of the Ukrainian scene, his journey includes the stages of Kazantip, legendary residencies at DOM, Opium, and Moskvich Bar, and appearances on RTS.FM.
Under his Whoon alias, he has delivered solid releases on High-Jack and soWhyNot Records. Currently based in Germany, MADLEGIN delivers dynamic sets that seamlessly mix vinyl and digital. Expect a deep dive into House and Techno, expertly navigating through their diverse subgenres.

DJ since 1992. Originally from SoCal (LA & OC area) and got my start in the underground House Music scene. Produced events and played many warehouse parties as well as nightclubs till around 2000. Became part of the team for Spundae Worldwide. Resident DJ at their LA club and was able to play a slew of events and tours over the next few years, including during the merger with British Superclub brand Godskitchen. Handled all aspects of marketing, production, talent buying and artist relations through this time. Support sets for many major acts. Lived in Tulum & Playa Del Carmen (Mexico) in 2006/07 and handled events as resident DJ and event producer in those markets, as well as Cancun, Merida & Vera Cruz. Moved to Vegas in 2008 to open Wet Republic and played various venues for AMG (later becoming Hakassan Group). Created Nightlife Guru with biz partner Peter Beckers (of Spundae) and had accounts throughout city and various residences at virtually every club and party pool in town. The name says it all: Groovintella was born when a promoter asked me for a DJ name and I wanted something that captured everything I love — the groove, the records, and the stories they tell. A fantasy name. And to this day, it still rings a bell.
Music has been my way of life since around 1996 — and I wouldn't have it any other way. While others were still figuring out what house & techno even means, I was already there — in clubs, on illegal open airs, on airwaves, deep in the underground frequencies that most people never find.
DJ, producer, radio podcaster, event creator and cultural connector — shaped by countless nights and endless grooves. From smoky basement parties to curated club nights, from roller discos to radio waves. The vibe was never just music, it was always movement.
Radio shows on Radio Rheinwelle, Radio X Frankfurt, and over a decade of TELLATUNES on MHYH. Played venues from Frankfurt's Kunstverein Lola Montez to Wiesbaden's Cloeb Frisch, from Kassel to Cologne, Berlin to Dresden — and unforgettable nights at Bootshaus Mainz. Whether under bridges or in hotel ballrooms, the beat always found its place.
