With "Trial and error", I extend the exploration of "Carry On", reassembling the leftover sonic fragments from that previous journey.
This track plays on contrasts: saturated, noisy, and somewhat chaotic verses give way to a more upbeat, lighter chorus—like a welcome breath, a call to regain momentum.
Once again, I worked on layering sounds, blending elements of J-pop with intertwined voices that listeners can uncover, hidden within this interplay of textures and emotions.
Where tension builds, I wanted the melody to open a door, to breathe in a renewed sense of hope.
Between raw textures and brighter bursts of sound, Trial and Error invites you to move beyond the cacophony and find harmony, even if fleeting. As the Rimbaud saying goes, holding on to what you've gained is already a victory.

Avec Trial and Error, je prolonge l’exploration de Carry On, en réassemblant les fragments sonores laissés de côté lors de cette exploration précédente. 
Ce morceau essaie de jouer sur les contrastes : des couplets saturés, bruitistes et quelque peu chaotiques laissent place à un refrain plus enjoué, plus léger comme une respiration bienvenue, un appel à retrouver l’élan.
Encore une fois, j’ai travaillé la superposition des couches sonores, mêlant des éléments de j-pop aux voix entremêlées que les auditeurs peuvent retrouver dissimulés dans ce jeu de textures et d’émotions.
Là où la tension s’installe, j'ai voulu la mélodie entrouvrir une porte, insuffler un regain d’espoir. 
Entre textures brutes et éclats plus lumineux, Trial and Error invite donc à dépasser la cacophonie pour retrouver une harmonie, même fugace. Tenir le pas gagné comme disait l'ami Rimbaud, c'est toujours ça de gagné.

Another World

This is a little improvised experimental jam that I made on the Elektron Digitakt using only source sounds from my guitar that I mangled into kick, snare, bass and synth-like elements. Electro music project

My boundaries between genres are blurring to make way for a new sound experience.
I am delighted to present my new musical project, Philebe, an electro immersion that emerges from the ashes of my rock roots.
Coming from the rock scene, I decided to engage in this new sonic adventure, exploring changing horizons with transformed energy.
Every note, every beat, is a reflection of this personal transformation.
Electronic melodies mingle with vestiges of rock, creating a fusion that I hope is harmonious between the past and the present.
Once full of melancholy, I now hope to celebrate joy and fulfillment.
I hope to see change become an illuminating light, a creative force and I try through my new musical expression to embrace the positivity that emerges from my transformation.


Mes frontières entre les genres s'estompent pour laisser place à une expérience sonore inédite. 
Je suis ravi de vous présenter mon nouveau projet musical, Philebe, une immersion électro qui émerge des cendres de mes racines rock.
Issu de la scène rock, j'ai décidé de m'engager dans cette nouvelle aventure sonore, explorant les horizons changeants avec une énergie transformée. 
Chaque note, chaque battement, est le reflet de cette transformation personnelle.

-  Elliott Lupp is a composer, improvisor, visual artist, and sound designer whose work often invokes images of the distorted, chaotic, visceral, and absurd. This aesthetic approach as it relates to both acoustic and electroacoustic composition has led to a body of work that, at the root of its construction, focuses on the manipulation of noise, extreme gesture, shifting timbre, and performer/computer improvisation as core elements. 

- Elliott has received a number of awards and honors for his work, including a 2019 SEAMUS/ASCAP Commission, the 2019 Franklin G. Fisk Composition Award for Chamber Music, and Departmental and All-University awards in Graduate Research and Creative Scholarship. His music has been performed at a variety of electroacoustic festivals including N_SEME, CHIMEfest, Electronic Music Midwest, MOXsonic, Fulcrumpoint New Music Project, SEAMUS, and Electroacoustic Barn Dance, and by such ensembles as the Dutch/American trio Sonic Hedgehog (flute, clarinet, and electric guitar), the Atar Piano Trio, Found Sound New Music Ensemble, various members of MOCREP, The Chicago Composer's Orchestra, Fonema Consort, and Ensemble Dal Niente.
