Concept: The concept of Scotch is a antithesis of Screwed music, Screwed Music is slowed 30 to 50 Bpm than the original. Scotch speeds the track 50 - 120 bpms, I enjoy laying over rock rifts, beats, or sounds to accentuate the track. As I move further into this exploration of hacking Dj Styles you will see Chopped from Screwed and Chopped to be forged into Hopped...then the track will be Hopped and Scotched...bad ass.

It all began in 2022 in a garden at night. This is when Felix Wirsing and Margaretha Paulick came together to join their gifts and to record this EP. It’s their first project in which Margaretha’s poetry - consisting of deep reflections formed into symbolism - and Felix’s musical sensitivity meet to birth something new that’s full of richness and magic.
Like this, “gold mine” becomes a testament of the joy both artist share for experimenting, collective exploration of sounds and for simply playing together. 

In the EP richkids takes us on a journey into various emotional worlds, visions and encounters. The listeners are given ideas and told about treasures that are hidden where most people don't dare to look: In our shadows. At the same time, it is all about hope, about keeping it, even when things get hard or the future seems uncertain. Nature - as an entity, a soft and all connected force - remains a constant presence, interfering and weaving a common thread from piece to piece.

richkids is a reminder of the abundance we all carry inside us. We are rich in our gifts, in the aliveness and connection we can feel with ourselves and one another. It is also reminding us of the child within us that we can nurture while playing and experimenting and that brings so much joy and fulfilment. All of this one can hear in the melodic, sometimes soft and at times dark sounds and poetry of the richkids, if we become still and open our hearts.

Michel Banabila, born 1961, is a sound artist, composer, and producer. Banabila has released music since 1983 and has produced musical scores for numerous films, documentaries, theater plays and choreography. His music varies from minimal loop-based electronica, fourth world, and neoclassical pieces, to drones,  experimental ambient,  and punk-as-fuck tape music. His work have been released  internationally by labels like Bureau B (DE), Eilean Rec (FR), Knekelhuis (NL), Pingipung (DE) and Séance Centre (CA)
