In the 1950s, many hit songs were well less than 3 minutes, making them perfect for radio play. OMGG Band has faithfully recreated this tradition with their mixed lyrics version of "Sherry" keeping it concise, heartfelt, and true to the golden era of rock 'n' roll.

"Sherry," originally made famous by The Four Seasons, is known for its high-falsetto vocals and early rock energy. But what if this classic had been imagined differently?

OMGG Band’s version transforms it into a dreamy, slow-dance ballad, inspired by the timeless doo-wop sound of "Earth Angel" by The Starlighters. Gone are the soaring falsettos—replaced with a warm, intimate performance that captures the romance of 1950s dance halls and jukebox nostalgia.

Vocals by OMGG Band’s own Gigi, delivering a heartfelt, vintage-style performance.

Featuring a smooth saxophone solo and electric guitar lead to enhance the classic 50s romance.
Vintage-style sound mixing by Studio 740 in Helsinki, keeping it slightly raw to give a sense of time’s effect on the recording.

We didn’t aim for an overly polished studio sound, instead choosing to preserve a natural, slightly rough feel—as if this track had been played over the years, carrying with it the warmth and charm of the era it belongs to.

With Gigi on lead vocals, warm male harmonies, and electric guitar by Oceana, Sherry Baby (Tonight) was recorded to feel like it’s playing through a crackling AM car radio — transporting you back to a starlit slow dance in the 1950s. Special thanks to Mark for the sax solo!

Originally from the Wirral (OMD land!), I now live in London. Almost all of my career was in IT, Project Management and lack of time and technology meant I never really pursued a music career. The lockdown and technology advances have meant I could teach myself and learn to compose songs. I don’t like to stick to one genre but rather try and ‘parody’ styles. Some melodies have been in my head for years and in some cases words have changed over the years. My aim is really to creat a ‘potpourri’ of sounds such that someone somewhere will enjoy something on here!!!!

I have always been singing since I was a kid. I sang everywhere and my twinsisters friends often found it a bit anoying hearing me singing. 
My First big musical experience was when I heard Sweet and ABBA and of course David Bowie but even Kiss. I just loved the glamrock style but even found it a bit dangerous at the same time. My fascination for that kind of Music was something I kept to my self but really never left me even though my musical taste has broadened as I grew older. Today I would say I like all kind of music and that it depends on the situation. 
My main influencers today are George Michael, Prince, David Bowie, Rolling Stones, Fleetwood Mac, R.E.M., U2, Frank Sinatra, Tony Benett and still the sound of the 70’s glam-disco-soul-era and I must say that Per Gessle from Roxette is a brilliant melodymaker and I also like som more heavy stuff too. 

 I like to sing in different styles and in many ways it depends on what instrument I play.... that will become more obvious further on after uploading more songs. I hope I don´t make you confused!
