I wrote this song after seeing the Tik Tok and Instagram reels of young people upset about the world we are leaving them. It's not one thing, its school shootings, opprssion of of LGBTQ+, climate change, and so much more. I worked with composer/musician/producer Geoff Levin to ensure that the arrangement didn't get in the way of the lyrics. Geroge Takei shared the music video on Threads and we feature information on The Trevor Project in the video.

Johnny Schaefer is an eclectic Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter. He has a BA in Music (Composition and Voice) from California State University, Fullerton. He has sung backup for Josh Groban, Melissa Manchester, Sarah Vaughan, Pete Townsend, Billy Idol, Diahann Carroll, and others. He was a Semi-Finalist in four categories in the 2020 UK Songwriting Competition. He has collaborated with Producer Stephan Oberhoff (Heartbeat Brazil), Bram Stoker Award-winning author and lyricist Elizabeth Massie, best-selling author Marianne Williamson, Carol Robbins-jazz harpist, Christoph Bull, Paul the Trombonist, Chad Ellis, and composer Lynn Kowal. He has been a cantor at Blessed Sacrament Church in Hollywood, CA since 1981. He is married to his videographer, Paco Silva. Johnny’s new release of his song, You Can’t Hide the Light features GRAMMY Award-winner Melissa Manchester.

Christine Winchester is a singer/songwriter who lives in the Philadelphia, PA area with her husband and music partner, David C. Perry.
