rtchokes got into DJing when he first started throwing queer parties in Russia with his collective, SHAPES. They created safer spaces under homophobic laws until those tightened too much, pushing him to find a new home in Hamburg.
Rather than sticking to genres, rtchokes goes off the mood, trying to find and capture a certain physical response within himself and translate it into a moving selection of music. The result is always a wild blend of genres and moods that unexpectedly makes sense. Currently drawing inspiration from pop, latincore, experimental electronic, and bass, he gives center stage to queer artists and eclectic club music, disrupting the scene with bouncy, high-energy sound.

On ‘Wolfgang,’ Surusinghe pivots towards brain-melting machine funk driven by a low-slung juggernaut of subtly swung rhythm and a fierce line in modulating synth work, with ad-production from Berlin-based producer @rhyw.
