Play Time (Short Version)

An 18-minute Prog Rock adventure into our past, present and future. This piece was conceived as a loving homage to Rick Wakeman’s 1974 Prog Rock classic, “Journey to the Center of the Earth”, and the first part of a sci-fi tilogy called "Follow the Light". 

Yes, I know these retro long-form musical adventures are not going to be of interest to everybody (probably very few actually), but I enjoy big, bold musical adventures, and with the availability of virtual instruments, SynthV singers, and generated voice narration, I realized that I could give this one a shot. 

The music is a mix of Major, Minor, and Phrygian Dominant modes, with some classic Prog odd timing bits.

Journey to the Begining of Time

The final part in my "Follow the Light" trilogy. A full-on 20-minute sci-fi story about the ultimate journey of discovery. The story has been percolating in my head since watching 2001: A Space Odyssey for the first time. The development of synthesized voices and narration, and VST orchestras finally made it possible to try to create it – as a musical. 

Featuring Synthesizer V Natalie and Saros, narration from Narakeet, and the Spitfire BBC Orchestra, it’s mostly in E Dorian mode, with a few borrowed notes and chords. Trying a mixture of orchestra and prog band keyboards and drums – something you might hear in a Broadway play or movie. Thanks for listening.

Destiny

Just in time for Halloween - Synthesizer V Saros is here to haunt your dreams. I originally did this with Natalie last year but wanted to try it with Saros's powerful voice but needed to change the melody lines to best fit the vocal range. I think the vibe is a lot creepier than the Natalie version.

yeah i'm just gonna keep casting the synthv vbs i have in songs for epic. i wanted to use mai but i couldn't figure out where. fortunately she works beautifully for calypso

anyway i continue to cast my vbs in epic the musical. i thought cong zheng would be able to pull off both the soft/sweet and powerful parts of scylla and i was right. i don't know how to get a growl effect in synthv quite yet but just the tone and strength is working well.

Amateur musician making music since the 70's in a wide range of styles. I've been using synthesized voices since Vocaloids back in 2013. Recently discovered Synthesizer V and WOW! has the technology improved. I will leave up the old Vocaloid pieces for now and post new pieces (and some remakes) with SynthV original songs.

Songwriter, composer & producer

Jego and the Androids is my musical project, blending Pop, R&B, Jazz, and Rock, inspired by the sounds of 80s hit parade music. After the COVID-19 pandemic, I began producing music, driven by my worsening eyesight and enduring cluster headaches. I first explored music back in 1989 but had to pause due to technical setbacks.

Since 2020, I’ve been focused entirely on composing, initially with instrumental pieces and later incorporating AI-generated vocals in 2021. Songs like "Rare attributes" and "Lost and alone" have gained notable attention on SoundCloud. Now, I’m working to improve further and plan to sing on my own tracks in the future.
