Shape of the Question is about sitting in the unknown.. the space where answers don’t arrive neatly packaged, but reveal themselves in the act of asking. This mix is my exploration of that space.. the tension between doubt and trust, expectation and surrender.

To me, the “shape” is how the unknown carves me..how curiosity, wondering, and stumbling forward gives form to who I am becoming.

This album draws upon a wide spectrum of early extreme music. It strives to create a conceptually elevated experience by exploring transcendent themes while retaining the raw power and immediacy of its roots. Furthermore, the primitive early sounds from the classic extreme metal bands from black, thrash and death metal are mixed together equally and reconceptualized through themes not often touched upon by metal and through the sounds of earlier extreme music efforts in and outside of the metal framework.

It moves through the Phoenix’s rebirth, the Dragon’s fire, the Warrior’s courage, and the Savior’s light — dissolving all archetypes into a higher flame: Cold Fire, the fire that illuminates without burning. It forges a new Creation, anchored in Love and pure Joy, where there is no place for suffering.

the fire of passion,
power,

I am Cheng Pak Chun, also named Snake or YŠnake, a hardstyle music producer, DJ, and sound assistant from Hong Kong. After graduated from the HHCKLA Buddhist Wisdom Primary School in 2016 and completed my studies at the Po Leung Kuk Ma Kam Ming College in 2023, I finished the DSE so now graduated from the Higher Diploma in Music Production at Hong Kong Design Institute (HKDI).

  Born into a grassroots family without any musical background, I was deeply influenced by electronic music during my secondary school years. I began learning and producing electronic music at the age of 15. Since I hadn't learned any mainstream instruments or music theory as a child, my initial experiences with music production were very challenging, requiring me to invest more time and effort than the average musician.

Los Angeles based NEKTER provides the room with what she calls a techno sound bath; scratching different parts of the brain with various textures and noise while using particular healing frequencies and sounds. This emerging DJ has been working her way through the underground warehouse circuit around the world.

NEKTER gained her notoriety after winning the 2021 REFORM DJ Contest hosted by 6AM Group and Synthetik Minds. She cut her teeth playing warehouses with the Berlin/LA based all-female techno collective Fallen Angel. She is often seen on local lineups for the most prominent underground groups in LA such as 6AM, Dirty Epic, WORK, Incognito and Synthetik Minds and has shared the stage with industry heavy-hitters such as Ben Block, Ben Sims, Ø [Phase], and most recently as direct support for Amelie Lens. Now an official resident of Commonsense Records in Mexico City and WORK in Los Angeles, NEKTER finds herself sharing the decks with even more insane talent. 

NEKTER aims to shake things up and represent the next generation of DJs while paying respectful homage to the legends who helped pave the way for the underground electronic music community. More importantly, NEKTER's focus is on the experience of the sound journey as it relates to spiritual exploration. Her 10+ years of yoga and meditation practice has landed her at a place where she no longer wishes to have a boundary between the electronic music scene and consciousness observation. Her sets are designed with the purpose of diving into one's subconscious, making friends with one's shadows, and feeling sensations in every part of the body. It is imperative to her that the journey be healing, embodied, and somatic as well as being fun and sexy as fuck.

His live sets are known for blending slow-evolving ambient landscapes with fragmented post-industrial rhythms and spoken word overlays. His work has appeared at independent electronic events, clubs, warehouse shows, and gallery-based listening rooms throughout Melbourne, with international interest via curated playlists.

Giebartowski is a boundary-dissolving artist navigating the liminal spaces between sound, text, and memory. Drawing on a hybrid lineage of Eastern European folklore, post-communist architecture, and algorithmic decay, his work evokes the static hum of lost transmissions and the poetic distortion of time.

His signature “glitch chants” and ambient-noir soundscapes have earned underground acclaim in Melbourne’s electronic scene and Europe’s cassette-based art communities.
