Christoph Vratz beschäftigt sich in diesem Podcast mit der »Walküre«, deren 1. Akt Loriot zusammenfasste mit »Inzest und Ehebruch, man ist begeistert!«. 

Worum aber geht es wirklich im 1. Tag des Ringes, denn das »Rheingold« war ja ‚nur‘ der Vorabend? Es geht um die wichtigsten Wagnerschen Themen: Verträge, die göttliche Ordnung, Schuld und Treue.  

Und musikalisch? In der »Walküre« werden Richard Wagners Ideen der Zukunftsmusik, der Leitmotivtechnik und des Gesamtkunstwerkes verfeinert: Aus dem Zusammenhang von Sprache und Musik, Gestik und Bühnenbild, Raum und Klang entsteht immer mehr eine künstlerische Einheit.  

Darüber hinaus befindet sich in der »Walküre« nicht nur die beliebteste Protzstelle in Wagners Tetralogie mit dem längsten Ges (Rekordhalter ist seit 1940 Lauritz Melchior mit legendären 17 Sekunden), sondern auch das Grimmsche »Dornröschen«-Märchen und die wohl bekannteste Stelle des gesamten Rings: Das Töchtertreffen Wotans auf einem Felsen, der »Ritt der Walküren«.
