Where Lucid established their tight, melody driven sound, Cascade pushes further, adding rich new textures of synths and samples, while crafting cohesive songs that push the boundaries of rhythm and structure. Inspired by the collective history of life, Cascade captures awe, chaos and calm, from beginnings, to collapse, to recovery.

Info: Take Your Time – EP is a five-track showcase of bass-heavy versatility from New
Zealand’s Unwell, blending UK bass, garage, 2-step, and jungle; it moves from
shimmering grooves to peak-time club pressure — built to work in any setting, from
the rave to the lounge.
Produced in Wellington, the EP opens with the title track Take Your Time, a
shimmering, swing-heavy garage cut, followed by two distinctive remixes: producers
Joku deliver a forward-moving flip, while Ukrainian artist Lostlojic adds a smoky,
atmospheric edge.
Disco Take switches gears with a playful jungle-meets-disco fusion, before Tamaki
Makaurau based AndWahn closes the EP with a driving club remix built for peak-time
energy.

Released on Washington’s Sound Transitions, Take Your Time – EP is a cross-
continental journey in groove; born in Wellington but shaped by influences and talents

from across the world. It’s a celebration of bass culture’s international spirit.

PREMIERE: Unwell - Disco Take [Sound Transitions]

Dylan Horrocks and Zach Dodson have created a university programme that their younger selves dreamed about. They are co-founders of The Visual Narrative Lab: a place for visualisers and world-builders of all sorts to explore storytelling across media ranging from comics to creative writing to tabletop roleplaying.

Dylan, author of the acclaimed graphic novel Hicksville, and an Aotearoa Arts Laureate, has worked as a cartoonist, writer, and illustrator for over 35 years, and is renowned for his world-building, storytelling, and scholarship. Zach creates interactive narratives across various media, including the "illuminated novel" Bats of the Republic. He is also the founder of a publishing company, Featherproof Books, and a video game studio, Interactive Tragedy LTD.

Sadie Coe talks to Dylan and Zach about their work, about play, and about the joys and pains of creativity, and gets jealous of students of the amazing Visual Narrative courses offered at Te Herenga Waka Victoria University of Wellington (https://www.wgtn.ac.nz/design-innovation/research/communication-design/visual-narrative-lab).

LOWORK, the stage name of Wellington Francisco, started DJing in 2008 at the age of 15, influenced by his father. At that time, due to his young age, his stage name was Wellington Boy. Years later, he became interested in music production and in November 2010, he released his first track as Wellington Boy on Beatport. Since then, he has had several releases, over 50 original tracks, remixes for various national and international artists, and many of his tracks have also been remixed by others.

He released music through renowned labels such as Not For Us, Cabana Music, Big Mamas House Records, and Midi Mood Records. His tracks were played by big names like Roger Sanchez and Anderson Noise. His charisma, knowledge, and talent made him a highly versatile DJ in his performances, with a sound range that spans from House to Techno, always bringing his inspirations and references to the dance floor.

Since 2017, he has been performing and releasing music as LOWORK, the same year he also produced his first electronic music event.
