Song arrangements I've done in the style of Wario Land. I can't say I've ever done
anything in the style of II specifically, other than The Merry Peasant. but um. 
By default, you should just assume it's in the style of Wario Land 1.

MIDI is off kunstderfuge, iirc. Pitched up 1 semitone to match the Beecham recording. I fiddled with the "vocal" track to give it a bit of cantabile. The part at around 1:13 - 1:26 is the best part of the whole thing, as far as the accompaniment goes.

Messiwah: Every Waalley Shall Be Exalted

The original song always made me think of a lanky man walking beside a wooden fence, along on a muddy path on a rainy day, in medieval England. I realized, due to the tempo changes in the version I've always listened to, though (which I went to the trouble of adding in-- the song just isn't as... full of life, otherwise), that the intention was some drunk guy-- so unoriginal (EDIT: Apparently I was right to begin with, it is a song about a plain ol' jaunty happy-ass man walkin' along). ...rather coincidentally though the new image painted was a rosy-nosed, fat, short man(:o) dressed in red (,:T), bald on top with wispy orange hair around.

midi from.... 8notes, i think? i'unno; SOMEwhere. 

...I wonder if I should publish my edit for it somewhere and credit the original MIDI's transcriber for providing the base, because, like, they not only missed the veering tempo, but also the harmony. Or, perhaps I should just make my own transcription using it as a guideline so I can make my own publication and be done with it.

I was thinking about covering Haggstrom for WL4II (don't tell MayroSpare, I wanna surprise him :o), but I got sidetracked by Mellohi, which I vaguely recall being my favorite of the records to play back in the actual game, back when I still played it.

Update: implemented the work I've started doing on an EeEeHh preset. The lower octaves aren't implemented yet, but C5 and up is pretty much done, unless I find samples for something past E6

Made some updates to my WIP WL1 overhaul. Now, the telltale EeEhHh instrument features another two octaves plus expands the higher range up by one note, bringing its total range from ~15 notes to most of the range of a piano.

Took a MIDI off'a 8notes, made an extra channel using data from aNOTHer MIDI from some OTHEr site, gave 'em the ol' Waa touch, changed the sequence data to more closely resemble the only mp3 of Badinerie that I will probably ever love, mixed them, etc., and hEre we ARe.

In other news, I discovered that there are actually two different incarnations of the EeEeHhHh. The one used more often throughout WL1 is the one I took a shitton of samples for last week(s?). The other version of the EeHhHh is at the very least heard in the intro, and honestly I should take some more samples so the higher octaves don't end up sounding slightly strained, but I'm using it as a bass instrument here so for the moment it doesn't matter.

Waadinerie

I wanted to demonstrate the difference between Wario Land's two, very similar sounding "EeEhHh" instruments in a way that made it immediately apparent.
The second loops swaps the instruments. Given the main variant's overtly higher versatility/applicability, it's not surprising that the Title Screen variant very seldom was used in favor of it. Even in the Title Screen audio where it comes from doesn't use it when it gets to the those high-pitched scales.

I like how the second loop sounds a bit more, I think. What's your pick?

Created from start to finish in exactly 40 minutes. About 7 minutes was spent sequencing, the entire rest of the time was spent arranging then re-arranging.

Q: Why do I use the Wario Land 4 soundfont to some capacity for so many tracks?
A: Because I love the way it sounds, obviously. Half the reason why I'll start making a MIDI in the first place is that I want to hear what it'd sound like with the Wario Land 4 soundfont.

One wonders how much of their fanbase thinks of ol' typhoidoa as "epic Wario man, *and ig some other stuff*" - the same sort of typecasting that has felled a number of UT Remix artists over the years.
