The two songs seemed very similar in tone, and they're both from SNES RPGs, so I figured I'd just make a point of intersection, of sorts.

Jimmy the Elf - Day

I actually composed something, holy shit! And it isn't too long-winded and samey like Gusty Woods before it! this is a huge deal for me :D I'm pretty proud atm, and I hope that doesn't change between now and later ' - '

I also made that character design. The shutters around the eye are exactly what they look like-- flexible shutters that follow dude's pupil, which as you can kinda tell is a concave shape. The pointy parts you see are gold and shiny. The rest is a shade of blue similar to the background, and has a texture akin to somebody's tongue.

Crystal Starfish (Original Tune)

OOOOkay, let's talk about The Biolizard. I've spoken nothing about this at all in the time it's been in my files, so this will seem like a whole lot of sound in a small amount of time. Altogether I spent something like 24-36 hours I think to get to where I am total, and it's still not done, but I haven't touched it since July 13th, so I'm uploading what I have and leaving it until further notice. It's a damn shame because it's a relatively bumpin' cover in my opinion, but for some reason my body doesn't wanna touch it with a 10ft pole.

Reasons? I've got 'em (with the first one being the aforementioned sort of visceral, procrastination-inspiring feeling that makes no goddamn sense).
There are a lot of things about the song that are annoyingly layered. For example, not a lot of people realize that the Overdrive scales and the vocals are LAYERED OVER THEMSELVES 3-4 TIMES OVER. It's that and shit like the high-pass filters and things that made me think I might never actually get around to finishing it, which is why I'm caving and uploading what I have already.

Bionic Chomposaurus - "The Biolizard" Unfinished EarthBound Remix

I'm uploading this version because it really draws attention to the actual intricacies that I put into this song.  Take for example: those drums are fuckin' TAAASTY as all hell at 98bpm (although here it's set to 100 because I haven't opened the project for a month and I had a lapse in memory), and because FL's methods of pitch-bending and slow-down are different from audio editing software you can hear the differences more clearly and in a way that sounds better.

Lone Wolf | Atronach's Aura + EarthBound

Lichpenst - portmanteau of "Lich", a sentient creature created from human remains via black magic, and "Gespenst", a ghost, spook, or wraith. 

Coined because, like I said, Gespenst does mean wraith, but can also mean other things. So, I created a combination word, and it works too, because the "ch" in Lich and the "s" in Gespenst are pronounced the same way in German.
This word would be used for cases like DooM's "Revenant" enemy, because a Revenant has the vibe of a wraith, but similar to a Lich is very much tangible and tethered to the world it's wandering about in. Wraiths are also quite singular in their goals as well, if I recall, and are way too obsessed with revenge to use as a translation. 
A lich can kind of just do whatever, though, especially since similar to a revenant, a lich also has its free will by default as I understand. So, like DooM's revenants, they could very well go off and enlist in the demon hoard platoon.
Now if only I could stop forgetting how to spell it...

As for the arrangement itself, I just put a MIDI into SynthFont and messed with the DooM sounds until it sounded good. SynthFont's panning distribution sucks so much, though, so I wanted to give it a try in FL. The SynthFont arrangement actually kept the default sounds for the Left SynString and Right Polysynth, though, believe it or not, and I made sure that carried over to the FL version, because I tried using all SNES DooM and it just wasn't as good. Plus, in FL I had control over the instrument Gate and Release times, so I was able to exercise more control over those bass channels. The low, droning sound is actually a note from the right-panned bass channel, and the brief flares are from an octave about that and the left-panned bass channel, which uses the contrabass sound instead of "B2".

As for why I didn't just use the term's direct translation, "Wiederauferstandener" is a serious mouthful, I reckon.

E3M1 - Their Stripped Bones

This was my first whack at using the Super Metroid soundfont. I acquired a .zip with all the DooM/DooM II .mid's in it, and while looking for E3M2 aka Donna I stumbled upon a song that fit really well with the vibe. Plus, since Xander's been marching on my turf I figured I may as well expand *my* horizons as well. I also proooobably spent more time working on that fucking sick thumbnail than I did the actual arrangement.

That's supposed to be the Power Suit, by the way, *not* the Varia Suit (you can tell by the shoulder pads). I honestly can't remember if the PS uses the red chestplate or not, but to be fair I had to look up on Google images whether her suit even featured yellow to any capacity because I couldn't remember, so it's just as well. (Edit: apparently the Power Suit is like almost totally yellow and not orange, fuckin' OOOPS.)
The tiny version of this image looks really cool, by the way, because it isn't quite obvious that the helmet is a Revenant's skull, and as a result of the details being so pixellated the image as a whole really looks like SA-X, which is really, REALLY fitting for this song. 
Not to mention I love how gaunt and just slightly unsettling the proportions suddenly seem once you're operating under that assumption. It's like Amazing Fantasy #15's portrayal of Spider-Man, I can't get enough of that shit.

Those arpeggios just popped into my head on a whim when I was looking at the Nylon preset in Polyphone, and from there I made the drums, the Strings 3 line, then the melody. I’m really proud of that melody line. It’s simple and repetitive, yet not annoyingly so-- in fact, it’s the opposite. Which is fab. Anyway, after that, I programmed the Telephone line (...kek), then the Unsettling Opponent line, which itself was a serendipity. From there it was simply a matter of getting all the patterns into their final configuration and working on the mixing.

Battle Against a Refrigerated Opponent

Last night I had a dream that "The Curse of Candace" had a completely different song as its token musical number, and when I woke up I remembered that it wasn't actually that in real life and was like "well, fuck", because in the dream I was getting a real kick out of harmonizing with it. I then remembered that I was a musician and used the SoundCloud recorder so as to resolve the situation next morning.
What you hear as the melody line for the "chorus" in this track was what I was singing along to, the *harmony* for the acapella *rhythm section* during the chorus of the dream's version. Other than the backstory I just gave you this upload has nothing to do with Penniless & Fern.

Interestingly, this version here was not originally expected to be the one I ended up uploading. What I wanted to do was have the original version and the "hard" version I created posted as two separate uploads, but to justify that decision I felt the need to re-arrange the base version, and I ended up enjoying this new instrumentation, to the point where I'm thinking about maaaaybe just having the hard version be a Google Drive link ((i.e. https://drive.google.com/open?id=1AZZyUBu4uZfw9xTUUHxjLVUorXnRKLzK))

I forget who made the MIDI. ...and apparently the MIDI doesn't remember, either. As you can see, I also made the sprite match Jolene's description though.
I can guarantee you won't find a version of the EarthBound sf2 that includes Frankie's guitar ,:J ...God knows *I* tried ,:\ ...I had to make the preset myself ._ . 
Here's an interesting fact about that, by the way: said guitar has two separate samples, depending on the range

This one I actually didn't *fully* sequence myself (to be clear, those bongos in the left speaker are the bits I did sequence, because the original Bongo Groove is a sample). For the most part this was a conversion made by 2MIDI of the original .s3m file as given to me by Tom Miller.

PSI Rockin' Enemies - EarthBound

I actually wrote up the melody from start to finish before I started using a reference, just to see how close I could get without having heard this song in literally almost a decade. I was about 89% correct...? As usual, it sounds much better after using a reference and transcribing all the different parts.
In regards to the show, I don't remember many of the specifics as far as audio goes, but I feel like Tony was voiced by Josh Keaton. And if he wasn't, then he should've been. Because I mean come on, he looks like a Josh Keaton role in the face.

EarthBound: Heavily Armored Adventures

Programming this edit was definitely interesting. I had to make a separate FL project for the actual Baby Bowser fight to use as a reference for the crash cymbals and panning events, but unlike when I sent the test mp3 to dummyfass yesterday I'm relatively satisfied with the results of this mp3 from the outset.

MIDI originally came from khinsider, I think, but I don't know who sequenced it.
