I used to be kind of indifferent to the this version of Tengu Man's theme, but after I played through the Sega Saturn version of Mega Man 8 recently, it kinda grew on me. 

Mostly I'm curious why they gave him a different theme at all?

Mega Man 8 (Saturn) - Tengu Man [VRC6]

This is an Act 2 remix of Desert Palace from Sonic 3. Could you imagine if Sonic 3's competition stages were full-scale levels? This would probably be the result.

Desert Palace makes a mysterious turn as this arrangement is supposed to lean more into the "palace" part. During late-afternoon hours, Sonic & Tails make their way through an oasis of sorts before entering a cold, dark, and grainy palace. This palace is home to tricky sands traps and falling debris everywhere, but isn't anywhere near as hard to navigate as Sandopolis.

I really like trying to make sequences not only fit the style of a song, but also work under the same limitations. In other words, this works on the "8 voices only, FOOL" rubric. Having to re-instate the Expression for the backing organs was annoying, but whatever.

Q: Why do I use the Wario Land 4 soundfont to some capacity for so many tracks?
A: Because I love the way it sounds, obviously. Half the reason why I'll start making a MIDI in the first place is that I want to hear what it'd sound like with the Wario Land 4 soundfont.
