Song covers in the style of Wario's GBA titles. Source material can be from anywhere.

Waamixes: songs that are essentially the exact same as the original, but feature Wario soundfont(s). 
The waamix designation still applies to songs that more-or-less match the source material, even if the given MIDI has been heavily edited or doctored.*
Waarangement: songs that use the Wario soundfonts, but also sound sufficiently different from the source material: in the case of tracks that used a pre-existing MIDI, the song is considered the source material, not the .mid. 
Examples of waarangements include "Bad (Mario)", "Doodlecture (WL4II Doodle Woods)", "Fury Rock (WL4II Fiery Cavern)", and so on.

To best exemplify this distinction, compare "Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Wa" with WL4II's Toy Block Tower, aka "Ob-la-di Obelisk". 
'Ob-la-wa' is a waamix, because it features WL4's instruments, and changes the drums a bit, but is functionally the same as the original song. 
'Obelisk' on the other hand is a waarangement, because its sound is wholly different to that of the original, due to the addition of swing, parts of the original TBT's drums, etc.

* Examples of this rule would include "I'm Only Sleeping in the Row", which sports a thoroughly repaired melody line and a split-up rhythm section, but only because the melody line was highly inaccurate, and WL4 can't handle so many direct voices as the rhythm section was asking for.

Pitched the song up +580 cents on a whim, realized it was in a/the key that matches up with Bad, and as we all know, if there's one soundfont that should always have a few MJ songs under it's belt, it would be Wario Land 4.

I heard this snippet of a song in a Ted Nivison vine the other day that had a great progression for the line "we open real soon", but like I fucking guarantee it's one of the goddamn Tombstone FNAF songs. I've never actually heard one, but that's because if I did, I know that I would like them, which I suppose in itself would remind me so much of when I was 11 and ate that shit up that I would have to kill myself to avoid the embarrassment.
I think I actually tried to listen to the very first one, but like I'm one of those people who usually can't listen to things like Comic Dubs and things in that same vein.
Something about the vibe I guess makes me all anxious that someone would peer over and be like HAAAAAAAAA!!! SOOoOO!!! THEES IS-A WHAT YOU WATCH, FAE-GGUT?!?! It's like, its own special breed of cringe, I hate it.

Oh, and speaking of which, I was disappointed to learn that the song I was talking about with the Ted vine(?) was not one of the songs included in his uhhh MIDI folder he shared w/ me on Dropbox, back when I did Thrillsville last October(July? As our first collaboration (Cloudhopping) turned out wonderful, it's time for a second collaboration with Timaeus!  This time we decided to go a little darker, into the creepy world of Plants vs. Zombies.  We wanted a lot of variation in styles, moods and sounds throughout the song, and it was easy to fill up the remix with source due to the complex melodies of the tunes in the OST. Timaeus's dubstep breakdown with the "bungee scream" gives me chills every time I hear it. Thanks to Laura Shigihara for writing such a fun soundtrack for a great game.  I still can't believe no one has remixed this game yet! djp, we hope you are happy that someone finally accepted your challenge of doing a remix for Plants vs. Zombies! About time, eh?

This was by far the most complicated remix I've ever worked on with anyone, and I've never given so much attention to detail to one remix before. There ended up to be a whole bunch of drum samples, automations, and unique sound patches including a few of my own. If I had to pick a favorite sound, it would probably be that 12-string sitar patch Howard Scarr made for Zebra. This remix drew a little inspiration from zircon, Sole Signal, and Ben Briggs. Now, since this might actually be the first Plants vs. Zombies remix ever shared with OC ReMix, I figured it would be nice to include a quick little source breakdown (not NEARLY as precise as the last one):

Sorry if uhhh the volume for tracks varies, or is just relatively all-over-the-place. Even though I usually keep my system vol. at 52, there have been times where I've changed it and forgot that I did, then started working on a project.

Q: Why do I use the Wario Land 4 soundfont to some capacity for so many tracks?
A: Because I love the way it sounds, obviously. Half the reason why I'll start making a MIDI in the first place is that I want to hear what it'd sound like with the Wario Land 4 soundfont.
