Remember how you encountered a DJ at a bar or in the smoking area after their performance and struck up a conversation on topics close to both of you. Or perhaps you accidentally stumbled upon an unfamiliar producer in the studio and discovered new music...
That's why in this mix series, I try to find out the journey the artist has taken and what music they hold with great love in their library.

Dima Studitsky has been standing behind the turntables for almost three decades, and his sets resonate with intelligent and beautiful eclecticism, encompassing a wide range of genres from ambient, downtempo, and dub to the most current manifestations of house, techno, and broken beats. As a producer, he is highly valued and recognized not only in Moscow and Russia but also beyond, thanks to his releases on Compost Records, Sonar Kollektiv, Peppermint Jam, and King Street. In his discography, you can find remixes of artists such as Jazzanova, DJ Cam, and Radio Citizen. He has also participated in major European festivals such as Southern Soul and Sunsplash, and in Moscow, his sets could be heard warming up for Ame and Gilles Peterson, Kuniyuki Takahashi and Karizma, DJ Krush, and Peter Kruder.

TAKT Mix Series 017 - lolchto

@dj-delire is a side project of Ilya Delir from the city of Glazov, focused on classic grooves. With fifteen years of musical experience, Ilya managed to find himself in completely different musical roles: from a radical sound artist and minimalist to a true embodiment of a 70s DJ.

Currently, Ilya's music can be found on all modern electronic platforms and services. And if you dig into his portfolio, you can discover official releases with quite experimental music on various local and international labels, including collaborations with Japanese composers.

Looking specifically at the role of "DJ Delire," it can be determined that his sets organically transition between the "yellow rhythm" - the dance groove of bygone eras - and a modern "house interpretation." DJ Delire is an inspirer who can blend classic and contemporary styles. Despite the presence of North Korean disco from the 80s or even original jazz from the 60s in his sets, capturing the true essence of classic house music holds paramount importance. DJ Delire sincerely values and deeply respects that Chicago vibe from which the history of house music began.

"DJing has ceased to be just a hobby; it has grown into a passion and influenced my way of life. The search for bright and unique tracks, their listening and sorting for new mixes now takes up several days a week. But it's worth it to share the experience with my listeners.

In my selection, you can notice the influence of both Eastern and Western cultures, perhaps influenced by my viewings of movies with Jackie Chan and Jean-Claude Van Damme. The blending of various styles creates in my perception the atmosphere of an Eastern bazaar, baklava, and shish kebab, generating a unique energy. And of course, electro and breakbeat add a special dynamic to my mixes that I can't ignore."

Astore is the alias of DJ, producer, and vinyl collector Denis Lisin from Samara, Russia. He has released his own podcast titled 'Sounds of Love,' which aired on 16Bit.FM.
Astore's music can already be found on labels such as Soviett Records and Nubians of Plutonia Records, and soon, his track 'Spring Run' will be featured on the Dutch label ITALO HEAT as part of a VA compilation.
One of his tracks is also set to be included in our upcoming compilation, so be sure to keep an eye out for releases from TAKT Recordings.

Leap is a music enthusiast inspired by the aesthetics of the 80s, actively showcasing musical genres such as italo, disco, and nu-disco to the audience. 
Since 2019, he has been producing his own music and has managed to feature his releases on labels such as Estetika (including a compilation with Alberto Melloni, Romain FX, Johannes Albert, and Donald Dust) and Do Me. 
It is worth mentioning that at the Bruma Festival, Carol Mattos opened with Leap's track "Ray." 
Currently, Leap continues to reinterpret the tube aesthetics of the 80s in a modern manner. Additionally, he hosts the Biosystem podcast on radioplato.by, a local non-commercial radio station.

Resident of @utrorec & one of the founders of @maturlabel. 

It's always difficult to talk about oneself and describe one's perspective from the outside, which is why I believe that the material I've prepared should tell you much more. Currently, I'm in the final stages of working on my album, as well as preparing my other works for release. The mix was recorded in August 2023 at a party dedicated to the 2nd anniversary of the Walkers formation, in the historical center of Nizhny Novgorod. Since TAKT originated there, I never once thought that the mix could appear anywhere else!
