TAKT Mix Series is my first introduction to an artist, our first correspondence or conversation in person. 
Remember how you encountered a DJ at a bar or in the smoking area after their performance and struck up a conversation on topics close to both of you. Or perhaps you accidentally stumbled upon an unfamiliar producer in the studio and discovered new music...
That's why in this mix series, I try to find out the journey the artist has taken and what music they hold with great love in their library.

Hailing from Thessaloniki, Greece, Alpha Sect is a project of George McCall, which is focused on breaking electro patterns and pumping body music with serious punk influences. He started his music career as a guitarist in the post-metal band Sleepstream with 2 albums on their track record and he is an active musician with participations in physical theatre performances with his side-project. With already 4 EP releases on prominent labels such as OSM Tapes, Kein Rauch Ohne Feuer, Pildoras Tapes & Forkha and a vinyl release on Soil Records he already sets some expectations for the future, making him an upcoming artist to follow. TAKT Mix Series 005 - Alpha Sect

сияниесевера is an electronic project from Murmansk, positioned at the intersection of ambient and dance music. His sound is a dialogue between deep atmospheric textures and broken, melancholic rhythms, capturing the beauty of human emotions, experiences, and joys.  

While his roots lie in ambient, he does not confine himself to any genre. Inspiration comes from a variety of sources people, nature, and the musical heritage of both the past and future. A special place in his creative journey is dedicated to the development of electronic scene, where he finds like-minded artists and explores their unique musical visions.  

Despite rare releases, сияниесевера works with sound every day, diving so deeply into the process that it has become an essential part of his identity. He is currently preparing new material.  

A significant milestone in his journey was the collaboration with welofi, a label we also deeply respect for its contribution to culture and the growth of the scene.  

As for his mix, it reflects a shift in direction a return to four-to-the-floor rhythms and a full immersion into the pulse of the beat.

TAKT Mix Series 035 - сияниесевера

Kirill Pchelin is a DJ from Nizhny Novgorod whose vinyl collection digs deep into the ‘90s and beyond genre boundaries. He previously hosted a radio show on Canadian station ETN.fm, where for five years he shared fresh discoveries with an international audience.

Today, his focus is on rare early electronic and house records, uncovering forgotten releases with the distinct sound of the era. His sets can be heard at local parties and on independent radio stations, where he plays outside of trends — staying true to the sound of his own collection.

TAKT Mix Series 036 - Kirill Pchelin

Dor Shoham is a DJ and event organizer focused on hard techno and the nightlife scene in Jerusalem.
He started playing in Berlin, where he lived for several years and was a regular at Griessmuehle (later renamed Revier Süd Ost). During that time, he developed a strong interest in harder styles of techno, dark, industrial, hard techno, and schranz.

In 2020, shortly before the pandemic, he co-founded the label Passiv Aggressive Records, dedicated to hard techno and hardtekk. The label became part of the local scene, helped draw attention to the genre, and organized events in Berlin. Around the same time, Shoham performed at venues like Suicide Club and played shows in countries such as Sweden and the USA.

Since 2022, he has been based in Israel. He is an active member of the Logia Sound Collective and the founder of the Inferno Raves series, one of the few hard techno-focused parties in Jerusalem. He is involved in building the local community and regularly performs at events across the country.

According to Shoham, the goal is to adapt Berlin’s club culture to the Israeli context and establish a functioning platform for hard electronic music on the local scene.

She has gained recognition through sets featured on leading labels and underground platforms. Kler goes beyond the dancefloor, placing strong emphasis on narrative and flow. From the abstract edges of minimal to the organic pulse of microhouse, her approach is a continuous exploration of depth and detail.

Kler steadily continues to establish herself as a key figure on the international circuit, delving into the essence of contemporary minimalism and searching for new meaning.

TAKT Mix Series 038 - Kler

My name is Lydia, I'm 25 years old from Manchester. I've always had an ear for rhythm. I've always been drawn to drum rhythms, particularly African and diasporic drum patterns. I want to bring african and arabic inspired music to the electronic scene - I feel like we're lacking soul in electronic  music. 

Growing up in the UK influenced my music inspirations. I weave elements of UK rap into my mixes. I'm also inspired by dancehall and soca too. 

My mixes have a grungy, raw and organic vibe to them. The aim is to connect you to your deepest, truest self and let go through movement.
