Analog Objective
Moog Music announces the release of “Music For Intention & Growth: A Purpose-Driven Sound Series”, in collaboration with Twin Spring Tapes and Ace Hotel.  Produced exclusively for the compact cassette, the series features electronic compositions from sound-artists on Twin Springs Tapes, a cassette-only recording label delivering “stimulating sounds to aide in your experience of being.”  

Available free at select record stores* on Record Store Day [April, 16 2016], “Music For Intention & Growth: A Purpose-Driven Sound Series” highlights the organic nature of analog sound, pairing the output of Moog’s handcrafted electronics with the unmistakable warmth of magnetic tape.  The series consists of 3 individually distributed tapes featuring auditory explorations of the newly released Moog Mother-32 Analog Synthesizer as conducted by Inner Travels, Kyle Landstra and TALsounds.  

Listening Environments
Played through vintage cassette decks, Ace Hotel will host listening sessions in 8 of their locations on Record Store Day (Ace DTLA, Ace Palm Springs, Ace Seattle, Ace Portland, Ace New York, Ace London, Ace Pittsburgh, Ace NOLA).

BlackBook will exclusively premiere a digital stream of Side A from each cassette.

Moog Music will include cassettes in Moog Mother-32 synthesizer boxes while supplies last.  

Invisible Intelligence
A limited run of select tapes will contain a unique audio transmission alerting the listener that they have won a free pair of tickets to attend Moogfest 2016 in Durham, NC [May 19-22].  Winning tapes will be mixed in among the tapes distributed to Ace Hotel, Harvest Records [Asheville], Static Age Records [Asheville], and All Day Records [Durham], Carolina Soul [Durham], Schoolkids Records [Durham], Bull City Records [Durham]

TALsounds | natal host | Side a

Natalie Chami adopted the TALsounds moniker in 2009 for her solo explorations in the drone, ambient, and electro-acoustic improv disciplines. In live performance, Chami’s analog synthesizers weave together into drifting loops that evolve in tandem with her vocal leads and choral harmonies. Her meditative sessions stretch into hypnotizing depths of stream-of-consciousness multi-instrumental input, sinking into expanses of infinite sustain and cresting into bursts of noise from an arsenal of oscillators and effects pedals. As a member of free music trio Good Willsmith, she has toured the country and released eight albums since 2012, including the LPs The Honeymoon Workbook (2014) and Things Our Bodies Used To Have (2016) on Mexico City-based label Umor Rex. Chami performs as half of ambient duo l’eternebre, and co-founded the experimental collective/netlabel Screaming Claws. She was born in Ontario and lives in Chicago.
