Something about the high frequency melodies in this sample give me spacey kind of vibes, like starry imagery and all that kind of thing. Had to name the beat to draw attention to that vibe, Large Professor also has a track called 'Spacey', highly highly recommend it, really amazing sound to that one, the style he brings to it is crazy.

Sample for this is too dope, had to flip it multiple times did quite a bit of layering too for different grooves, there was so much to work with the sample had great basslines and also really nice chimes and high frequency melodies to work with: not too emotional either and not too hardcore, just a smooth vibe with a strong bassline, always a fun kind of beat to make. Thought it fit that carefree B Boy vibe.

Collabed with R.K on this a while back, he did the animation and I provided the beats. Thought it would be dope to post here as he just reposted onto his new channel, and I haven't heard a lot of these beats in a while. Defo nice to have things like this where I have a collection of beats with a similar vibe. Will defo be doing this more in the future, think it's a good way to re release and present old beats. Also if there's any of these you'd like to hear used in a remix defo let me know, always open to reworking and improving the mixes on older beats.

One of my favourite AZ acapellas, the verses and the hook especially have always been crazy to me, been wanting to remix it for a while but I never felt like I had the right beat. 

When I made this one I had a feeling it would fit well, the vibe just matched the acapella imo, and the flow was a nice fit too. Beat was a lot of fun to flip, loads of layering from across the sample, the subtle harp chops really elevated the vibe for me, and the way the horn chops echo from the end of the loop into the start gives the beat a lot of momentum I think.

For the visuals I used the video for The Come Up, just had to get some nice visuals for this one to bring it to life, I think all the shots of the birds flying really fit the vibe of this remix well, this beat really gives off that sort of imagery to me, the way the horns echo really makes me think of that kind of imagery.

This spring I had a week, when I got down to my records. Mostly jazz and soul second hand vinyls I got before from Brighton, Brussels and Budapest. So the idea is simple and gold: sampling from these and make an album from the best beats I can make in a week. I used classic samplers what I appreciate the most like the sp-202, sp-303 and sp-404 combinations.
