Wormhole Wisdom is delighted to present to the world a trio of sought after represses and previously unreleased cuts from Grumptronix and Diode. The Grumptronix duo consists of Grumptronix and O. Torres, life-long friends from the hidden musical hotbed of Tampa, Florida and responsible for some of the most sought after electro cuts ever produced. Since the mid-’90s their futuristic, heavy-hitting trips provide an insightful journey, perfectly capturing the mysterious spirits of their creators. They’re as uncompromising, emotive and as relevant as any electro 12” you’ll find hanging in the halls of fame. During the same time period, Torres also produced work as Diode in his Red Light studio space. Their tracks were initially released on Erotic City Communications in a very limited batch which clung firmly to the underground, a ‘those-who-know’ record that was then clutched tightly by the sharks but is now available for your listening and ‘jockeying pleasure, alongside previously unreleased tracks, uncovered from long lost DAT tapes made during the same years. All tracks have been mastered from the original DATs with care and love by the ears and hands of Simon @ The Exchange.

The first in Wormhole Wisdom's trio of Grumptronix / Diode represses contains two highly sought after cuts from Diode and on the B-side, a previously unheard and unreleased Grumptronix cut. As Diode’s efforts spell out over the A-side, Omar’s hypnotic sound prove that they also have the ability to pack a punch. With spine-tingling industrial & artificial intelligence influences, both ‘06Funk’ & ‘Waterhole’ swing mechanical with a firm nod to the future. This unique sound is what’s had people reaching deep to own a copy for themselves. On the flip, ‘The Witching Hour,’ the first of 5 unreleased tracks in the series, takes an even deeper, mysterious turn, bringing things down a notch. It’s an intoxicating sound, packed full of nostalgia, space and energy - prepare to glide over your dance floor, living room or stratosphere in the proceeding 9+ minutes as you soak up one of the most uncompromising, emotive and relevant electro cuts to never see the light of day – until now.

Distorted Sensory Perception is back with a journey of deep space exploration in the form of their 2nd Various Artists release ‘Outer Solar System’. Featuring a diverse selection of deeper Electro and Techno of the broken beat variety. 

The A-side boasts a nostalgic stripped back yet progressive cut ‘Persistence’ from Maltese duo Moodex. Next up, a deep ethereal musical statement ‘Early Morning Hours’ from fellow Maltese producer Sound Synthesis in his unique style. 

The B-side opens with the moody, new school heavy hitter ‘Impulse Control’ from French producer and label co-founder Oshkossh. The penultimate track ‘Brainacid v2’ comes in the form of dusty machine music from Italian newcomer Caramel Chameleon that is reminiscent of AFX ambient works. Last but by no means least the record is brought to an epic conclusion with the frantically emotive and intricate ‘Grny89’ from France's Foreign Sequence.

There was a thick fog which hung beside the tree in the middle of the desert, they watched it from afar. It was not safe to roam outside here, amidst the wilderness ,for there were wild creatures and beasts which might eat you alive given the chance. The sand was a dense hybrid yellow, some might call it gold but for him that was not the case. The car whizzed across the outback headed for a town miles away in the distance, the engine coughed and spluttered beneath the heat of the day. They were all under strain... 

City Bowl Wax Network is a label based in Cape Town, South Africa. The label hit us up with two EP's of exquisite quality and precision that we were wholeheartedly blown away by. Not something that we get to say terribly often. This one comes with a gold stamp, or should we say a hybrid yellow stamp of approval.

On the 12th of April 1961, Yuri Gagarin was launched into orbit for the first and - so they tell us - the last time. Upon returning to Earth, Yuri became a global hero, travelling the world to tell of his adventure. Secretly, he was plagued by strange hallucinations and a persistent glow around his vision; a cornucopia of colour in a constant corona. At first fearing madness, the cosmonaut came to see these apparitions as a signal, an invitation, a welcoming beacon from a distant lighthouse blinking across the cosmic void. 

Taking inspiration from early Detroit techno culture, under the moniker Tony Neptune Leeds-based producer and artist Sam Jefferies is on a mission to tell a multi-sensory story through image, sound and text. A talented DJ and part of the Dimensions DJ Directory family, Sam has become synonymous with deep diving marathon sets both as Tony Neptune and as Yuri, solo or alongside fellow Leeds stalwart Mark 'Turbo' Turner.

After working hard on his production efforts over the last few years, his debut EP Reflections on a Daring Escape is finally seeing the light of day on Twelve Comets. Both sonically and aesthetically (Sam's visual work as a painter is at the core of the release), the 4-track release journeys deep into the cosmos, touching on the more celestial, emotive elements of electro and techno.

Elsa Hewitt’s stunning Citrus Paradisi is receiving the reissue treatment from one of the UK’s most important record labels. The reissue marks Lobster Theremin’s first dip into the indie-electronica sphere; a dreamy, heart-string tugging cut of left-field leaning pop, early Actress influence and Elsa’s distinct psychedelic minimalism. 

“I think the album is inspired a lot by synchronicity and faith – I’m not sure for what reason though. I guess it’s partly faith in the universe, and also in yourself – to be able to overcome things.” Elsa Hewitt has quietly been building repute as one of the UK’s most exciting electronic-experimental artists with quite a string of wonderful Bandcamp uploads that remain impossible to define under one genre term, yet unite beautifully under a distinctly sleepy, ethereal aesthetic. 

Citrus Paradisi opens with ‘Tiny Dancer’; a hazy slice of gentle house that is thoughtful and meditative, whilst sad and optimistic. The oxymoron of hopefulness and hopelessness is a theme throughout the record, as we move through the early- morning sounds of London on ‘The Thing’ and subtle high-energy of ‘Pastel; both maintaining that stirring emotionality. 

Every track on the record exists within a flexible genre of their own; each one lending itself it’s former as we meander our way through abstract, subtle math rock influence (‘Blood Orange’), down-tempo ambient (‘Drone Babe’) and twinkling high-velocity dreamscapes (‘Rolling In Your Wall’) to mesmerising effect. One of Lobster Theremin label head Asquith’s favourite records of 2019, Jimmy reached out to Elsa to inquire about a potential reissue, following the path he has built for himself in bigging up those he believes in. 

Citrus Paradisi may be the symbolic sound of contemporary thought; hopeful, anxious, sad, happy, optimistic, hopeless. It’s a stunning and unique blend of moods, textures and thoughts that make for one of the prettiest and most captivating records of last year and now, as it receives the reissue treatment, we get to enjoy it all over again.
