Not so far from the airport of Berlin, this is where my sister & I were born. 
Our parents found us in this old apartment and decided to adopt us — brother & sister it wasn't possible to separate us.
When we arrived at our new house we felt immediately home between the special treats, toys, love and all those weird black plastic plates well tidied against the wall in the living room. 

Those vibrations and different frequencies rocked our new cocoon from the morning until late at night - we understood very quickly that those waves vibrating in the house were the key to happiness in life.
Mornings, afternoons, nights, every different moment during the day were driven by this emotion they call music. We couldn't and won't imagine the world without it 🌎 

They say cats are therapeutics so one day my sister & I decided to spread our purr on this mechanic carrousel who makes those black waxes turning infinitely. 
My name is LIMBO, I am a cat and all I want is for the world to spin the right way. This is how I see my life every day — smile, relax and embrace my "ronron" as this is just happiness.

There are bouncy organ riffs, undulating acid lines, clipped Afro-funk guitars, tons of tropical percussion and the chanted, carnival-friendly vocalizations of guest singer Nina Miranda.
We've got the re-touch by Felix Dickinson, who sticks close to the original vibe but refines and jacks ups the groove of the mix...

Aroop Roy has been making waves with his unique sounds for the past few years, with a wealth of successful releases and a busy gig schedule at the helm of some of the best clubs around the world. By fusing elements of Jazz, Afro, Latin, Funk and Soul with the deeper end of House and
Disco, Aroop has forged his own style with EPs on revered labels including G.A.M.M, Basic Fingers, Freestyle and Lazy Days. For his Delusions Of Grandeur debut he pulled out all the stops, delivering three original tracks which further show his diversity as an artist and ability to produce left of centre, quality underground music without losing sight of the dancefloor.
Things kick off with Save Our Love, a track that’s absolutely brimming with energy thanks to punchy Wurlitzer chops, tension-building Philly strings, and a rock-solid disco groove.
Next up we have What I love which sees Aroop take an altogether more freaky approach flipping an uptempo rolling break, distorted synth line, cross-rhythm stabs and rasping vocal cuts into an edgy dance floor workout.
Closing this brilliant EP is the low-slung bump of Walk That Walk featuring original vocals from Oakland, CA based Blacktroniks who delivers his flow on top of a bass-heavy slice of deep electro boogie.

Vienna-based producer @sam-irl popped up on our radar following stellar releases on Jazz & Milk, but this guy has been making the best crunchy, MPC-driven jazz-infused House music dating right back to 2006.

EP’s for S3A’s Sampling As An Art and collaborative projects with Patrick Pulsinger and Dusty have won him fans including Gilles Peterson (leading to a release on Brownswood), Mr Scruff and Session Victim amongst many others. His live sets have also seen him perform at the hallowed grounds of Panorama Bar and Sonar Festival.

We've got the title track "Rain Technique" A quirky house track with bright keys and a playful groove that helps build a warm and charming vibe thats light and bouncy yet deep and driving enough to get your dance on to. The intro & middle break in the track is surely a big nod to Sound Stream, and we're always down with that.

Felipe Gordon is new to the scene, but entering the house world now via Toy Tonics in a heavy way.
 In fact Felipe is throwing some of the biggest Underground House parties in Colombia along with his Nómada Records crew from Bogotá. And he is making tracks, too. Dirty bangers and  with a certain unique vibe. He used to play in bands before switching to samplers and getting addicted to old disco and house vinyl. 
His moody and raw tunes use samples of rare records. But selected carefully, adding his own Juno 60 or Moog synth chords (like on "Tell me something true“). Often using minor keys and lot of little noises and short spoken words by himself. Never clean, always musically special. Felipe Gordon might be new to the international dance scene, but for sure you gonna hear that name more frequently over the next years.

Next up in Tartelet’s limited-edition series is renaissance man N.O.T.E. with “Night Frames” – a compilation of barrel-aged sounds for the warm nights ahead.

N.O.T.E. is a new project by an already established artist who might be of Swiss or Italian origin, depending on who’s asking. A seasoned sailor of musical waters, he enjoys jazz piano, fine wine and silk linens. Though none of that matters.

The first release under his new name could be described as a mini concept album where different routes are explored, bringing N.O.T.E.’s musical diversity and capabilities to light. Starting with “Falsa Laudis,” N.O.T.E. takes the listener back to the 80s with clear references to Italian boogie and jazz-funk of that era. The track is warm, fat and sparkly, and best enjoyed with a cocktail in hand. Following this is the title track “Night Frames” – a bruk-jazz escapade not shy of elaborate Rhodes solos and filthy funk. 

The B-side opener moves further south: “Obaleyako” is fueled by tropical energy, mixing African percussions with soft piano chords. It’s weird, mysterious and hot! Last but not least, N.O.T.E takes on the finest deep house sound with “En Route,” where endless layered melodies and percussion form the farewell.

This is an ultra limited-edition release of 250 copies (strictly no repress!), written and produced by N.O.T.E. and mixed at Panalama Studios in Copenhagen on the Neve 5088 Shelford console for good measure. 

The digital release includes an exclusive remix by Glenn Astro in his signature low-swung jazzy style. Enjoy!

Hey Bolting Bits family! We have quite the treat for you today -  and it's a remix from the likes of St Germain! It's been quite some time since we have heard new material from the French maestro, but fortunately, the wait is now over. Having centered his self-titled album around the music of sub-Saharan Africa (particularly Mali), it's no surprise St. Germain has elected to remix one of Mali's brightest rising stars. Abdoulaye Koné said Kandiafa is his name, and he comes from a long lineage of famous Mali musicians. In fact, he's the nephew of Mama Sissoko, Ali Farka Touré's famous traveling companion.

Nicknamed the "Django Reinhardt of Mali," Kandiafa is just getting things started at 30 years of age - creating a sound and a style that resembles Django's flamenco but is uniquely his own and authentically African. For the remix EP of his debut Mali Country, Kandiafa has gathered the likes of St Germain, Ghost of Christmas, Mawimbi and Sebastien Forrester to offer up hypnotic reinterpretations of the tracks Kele Magni and Nyonton. In St Germain's edit of the song, the producer keeps many aspects of the original intact while incorporating an assortment of dance-floor essentials that fill out Nyonton and give it an afro-jazz feel that's marked by mesmerizing synths and emphatic percussion.

Slow and seductive with brittle piano excursions scattered throughout, 'Liquid' definitely is our pick of the pantry.

The long-standing label Tartelet Records out of Copenhagen, Denmark are once again introducing us to some fine talent, something they've been known to do quite often over the past 10 years (do the names Max Graef and Wayne Snow ring a bell?). In this case, the producer is not exactly a newcomer but rather a new alias for an established artist. Nelson of the East, or N.O.T.E. for short, is an already acknowledged beat maker coming out under a new light. This mysterious character enjoys jazz piano, fine wine and silk linens, and could be of either Swiss or Italian origin, depending on who's asking. Perhaps that rings a bell for some of our readers?

The four track EP entitled "Night Frames" is a polished and diverse work, with jazzy influences aplenty and plenty of percussive grooves to boot. Perfectly soundtracking the forthcoming summer, the warm sounding release has a little bit of something for everyone. From boogie and funk inspired jams to tropical instruments and rhythms, N.O.T.E. has got you covered. Our premiere today, Obaleyako, leans towards the latter with a kalimba forming the backbone of the rhythm and a jazzy picked bass solidifying the groove. Airy pads and a squelchy synth solo come together with some rhodes chords to add a jazzy flavour that works impeccably well in tandem with the afro-latin inspired percussion. Obaleyako is a standout for us and should be soundtracking plenty a summer jam.

The rest of the EP is just as tasty and should be picked up ASAP if you're a collector, as it's strictly limited to 250 copies and out June 7th. Don't worry, a digital download is also available and includes a Glenn Astro remix.
