'Don’t Let Me Love Alone' is a moment of choosing and accepting to be loved. A self-reflection on the fear of losing yourself to love. Warm autumnal acoustics, hypnotic guitar swirls and soothing vocal harmonies, all reinforce Sophie’s tender delivery moving between resistance and hope.

Everyone’s fourth favourite side project, Taught By TV started out in circa 2011 with verve and enthusiasm.
Harry Gardner and Steve George had just taken their first febrile steps on the journey of ‘weird music’ having written and released an EP of largely instrumental stoner rock with their then band ‘The Blue Screen of Death’, and were keen to follow the path further. Preferably into oblivion and beyond.
They approached an old friend, drumming guru, and fellow oddball, Ben Turk and in the garden of their favourite local pub (The Hobbit, Southampton, for those wondering) sold him their dream of making absurd music, too challenging to be commercially viable, but not interesting enough to make waves in the world of post/math rock. A middle ground rich with ambivalence and apathy. They were on a highway to obscurity and it was going to be a hell of a ride…
Ben agreed that it was too good to miss out on, so under the guidance and tutelage of Turk (who also happened to be a kick ass producer), the freaky threesome recorded 4 songs in 2012, and then, suddenly, time happened. A lot of it.
Roll forward a dozen years or so, and the band were finally ready to unveil the tracks laid down all those years ago. Accompanying the sonic perversion would be an equally radical video concocted by geniuses Tom ‘Tomph’ Fincham and Tom ‘Prestige’ Prestige (release date 15/11/2024).
In the intervening period, Ben’s band Gloryhammer ‘made it’, and he subsequently turned his musical passion and talent into a full time occupation as a producer and drummer. Harry got busy pushing pencils for the CIA and Steve has evolved from an ugly, fat, young loser into an ugly, fat, old loser.
The nature of the band and the lives of its members mean they’re highly unlikely to ever gig, instead experiencing the world through a screen. Oh wait, that’s really fitting with the band name.

Electronica with a soul. Funky darkness with a heavy dose of melody and a film quote or two.
