🌀💦🔄💦With Liquid Transfers, Esgeem pulls you into an enchanted, misty universe, with vibrant ambience and deep-toned rumbles. Delicate, tangible sounds hypnotize and engage the senses. Half synthetic, half organic textures are layered over on familiar rhythmic structures. Deep, pulsating bass flows between the unhurried and persistent beats of the kick drum. Modest breakdowns emphasize the negative space. This deliberate minimalism only adds to the intensity of the tracks and places the feeling at the forefront: otherworldly, exotic, and brimming with energy.

@esgeem - Leipzig-based producer and dj, part of the Breakfest collective. His productions offer a harmonious balance between sonic introspection and uninhibited movement, drawing from halftime, dub and UK bass to form futuristic club music.

Galtier enters for his fifth instalment on his own label with ‘Opaque Envelopes’; an exploration of frequency and tilted sound processing across four slick, mid-tempo creations. Having leant heavily into hardware-focused productions, Galtier has refined his use of raw, one-take recordings and hand-crafted audio inflections, carving out a space dripping with feedback channels, aggressive modulation and dense, weighty sub bass, the collection makes for a set of highly functional, warehouse-ready rollers.

The EP carries itself along a subtle, evolutionary line, where Galtier hones in on transient, shifting soundscapes of rich, searing synthetics, all glued together with tight, syncopated rhythms that channel dubstep and electro. The intention is for each piece to sound alive; teeming with a life of its own, full of personality and vitality that breathes throughout. A significantly mature body of work that encapsulates the decade and a half journey into sound that he has embarked on.

Markham Road Records kicks off 2025 with a tasty new EP, THIRD TAKE. Spanning a spectrum of 140+, this four-track offering blends three originals with a remix from Hedo Hydr8. Opening the EP in style, the first track CONVULSE is a pacy breakbeat track with the perfect wormhole energy for the early morning crew.

Following the launch of the Eyes series, Early Reflex welcomes back Ikävä Pii for “Eyes II”, the second entry in this exploratory two-tracker format. 

Possibly the darkest tracks Ikävä Pii has produced to date, ‘False Binaries Fight for Primacy’ and ‘Permaweird’ are two detailed and twisted club tunes, encapsulating the perennial state of frustrated urgency of our times. 
Uneasy feelings are conveyed in both tracks, and refracted through the artist’s signature playful approach.
False Binaries Fight for Primacy is driven by the eerie ambiguity of its major/minor harmony, and a relentless rhythmic section that nods to post-punk as much as the track’s distorted, shouty vocals. The unsettling main theme of Permaweird is hinged on an alteration of the Locrian mode (often deemed the “weirdest” mode), and its timbre, albeit recalling familiar patches from the Process Fatigue era, here paints a much darker picture. 
Topical and heartfelt, these tracks update Ikävä Pii’s sound with an uncanny mutation, material for a standout moment in a club set. Already secret weapons in Ikävä Pii’s live show for nearly a year, they’ve left heads spinning on dancefloors in UK, Europe and beyond, and now find their proper home on Early Reflex.

Ikävä Pii said:
“What’s the purpose of club music in a climate where alienation is the norm and outdated narratives are collapsing?
We live in the permaweird: reality gets increasingly absurd, and yet we adapt to it every day.
Nothing to fight for: digital vs physical, liberal left vs authoritarian right, old vs young - just false binaries. There must be another way. 
In the meantime, activate punk mode, shout in the mic, use stranger scales. 
The only real binary is rich vs non-rich (and that’s what clubs should be about).

Tallinn-based label, collective, and promoter Shelter returns with their third boundary-pushing compilation, Aveen, out April 18. Following the emotionally rich journeys of Feyrûse (2023) and Mizgîn (2024), Aveen brings together 18 artists from 13 countries and 5 continents, exploring raw and unfiltered expression through experimental club sounds, ambient textures, and deep-rooted rhythms.

Today, we’re thrilled to premiere B E N N’s “1+-8”, a hypnotic and fractured transmission that echoes the compilation’s global spirit and emotional depth. Like the rest of Aveen, it weaves vulnerability into intensity, merging glitchy percussion and bass-heavy introspection into a cathartic sonic release.

Shelter continues to shape the Estonian scene while building global bridges — and Aveen might just be their most cohesive and resonant offering yet.
